In 1981 we, Dale Schwarz and Guillermo Cuéllar, founded the New England Art Therapy Institute offering art therapy, workshops and art therapy supervision. To encompass the broadening scope of our work with organizations; the Center for Creative Consciousness was established, as an umbrella organization, in 1996... Our unique approach and skill set at the Center for Creative Consciousness evolved from our combined backgrounds and expertize in the fields of creative behavior, organizational development and facilitation, art therapy, mindfulness practices, family systems therapy, counseling and Gestalt therapy. From these arena's we distilled best practices, theories and methodologies. These in turn inspired the models we developed that serve as the foundation for our work.
