Towson Surgical Center ("TSC") was founded by a group of local physicians in 1996, as physician-owned, physician-led facility providing outpatient surgical services to Baltimore County MD, and surrounding areas. In 2003, TSC partnered with National Surgical Care, Inc. ("NSC"), to take advantage of NSC's capital resources and network of multi-specialty surgery centers around the country. Through the NSC transaction, the physician partners continued to own a minority interest in TSC. In 2011, NSC was acquired by AmSurg Corp., one of the nation's largest owners and operators of surgery centers.
