Chantall Bickus


Glenn H. Gillette

Mr. Gillette is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University (B.S.E.E.), the University of Pittsburgh (M.B.A.) and the Duquesne University School of Law (J.D.) where he was selected for membership on its Law Review. Prior to joining Thomson, Rhodes & Cowie, P.C., Mr. Gillette spent 16 years in engineering and management with large industrial companies.

Harry W. Rosensteel

Harry Rosensteel is one of the firm's shareholders and co-chair of the firm's workers' compensation department. He attended Villanova University, majoring in Political Science and graduating summa cum laude in 1982. He then attended Duquesne University Law School, graduating in 1985. Mr. Rosensteel is a member of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations and the Workers' Compensation Section of both of those organizations. He is also active as an arbitrator for the Allegheny County Bar Association. Mr. Rosensteel has a diverse background in civil litigation but has now concentrated his entire practice in the defense of workers' compensation claims, as well as wills and estates. His emphasis in representing clients is to educate them so as to avoid costly litigation. Toward that end, he conducts frequent on-site training sessions for his clients, advises clients on health and safety issues, and authors and edits a periodic publication that summarizes and analyzes recent legislative, judicial and industry developments. The name of the publication is TR&C Workers' Compensation Bulletin. When litigation becomes necessary, Mr. Rosensteel is aggressive, cost effective, and professional, with cutting edge approaches to workers' compensation claims making the best use possible of the most recent cases. Mr. Rosensteel has spoken for Lorman Educational Services, Inc. and individual clients. He has provided seminars to hundreds of employers in Central and Western Pennsylvania, as well as to the Pittsburgh Claims Association, the Western Pennsylvania Safety Council, Slippery Rock University, the Allegheny County Medical Association, insurance carriers, and various local hospitals and long-term care providers. Mr. Rosensteel prides himself on TR&C's "hands-on" approach that encourages client participation in the litigation process. TR&C also concentrates on efficient and cost-effective representation. TR&C concentrates on educating their clients to avoid litigation and improve the chance of success in the event litigation occurs. Mr. Rosensteel is active in his community. He is a former coach, board member, and Vice President of the Kiski Area Soccer League. He is an active member of the St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania. Jerry Hogenmiller is a founding member and was a long-time Managing Director of Thomson, Rhodes & Cowie, P.C. For over 30 years, Mr. Hogenmiller has concentrated his practice in employment/labor law. He has extensive litigation and transactional experience in employment matters including discrimination, breach of contract, defamation, FLSA, fraud and misrepresentation, workers' compensation, golden parachute agreements, unemployment compensation, sexual harassment, ADA, restrictive covenants, separation agreements and releases, FMLA, protecting intellectual property rights, corporate reorganizations, alternative dispute resolution devices, incentive programs, RIF's, handbook and policy manuals, safety and security, welfare benefit plans, unfair competition, pension plans, drug testing, privacy rights, EAP's, contract negotiations and independent contractors. As a member of the firm, she has devoted her practice almost exclusively to the defense of workers' compensation claims, in addition to being part of the firm's estate practice.

Rhonda A. Rudman

Rhonda Rudman is Special Counsel with Thomson, Rhodes & Cowie, P.C.'s workers' compensation department. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Ms. Rudman joined TR&C in 2017. Prior to that, she was a Senior Partner at a Pittsburgh law firm representing employers and insurance carriers in all aspects of Pennsylvania workers' compensation. This included managing various firm accounts and educating clients on the nuances and changes in the workers' compensation law. Ms. Rudman is a current member and also served as the past chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Section. Ms. Rudman has 29 years of experience as a workers' compensation attorney. She is often called to litigate more challenging cases involving fatal claim petitions, course of employment litigation, retirement litigation and employer offsets. She has experience in submitting Medicare set-aside proposals and has litigated Federal Black Lung claims. She is a frequent speaker for both industry groups and other attorneys, speaking throughout Pennsylvania as well as in Omaha, Nebraska; Des Moines, Iowa; and West Virginia. Most recently, Ms. Rudman spoke on "Advanced Topics in Workers' Compensation" for NBI, Inc., on February 11, 2020, in Pittsburgh, PA. W. James Rogers

Jim Rogers focuses his practice on healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, employment and insurance. A significant percentage of Mr. Rogers' litigation practice includes an emphasis on lawsuits involving ERISA issues. Mr. Rogers advises managed care entities, hospitals and other healthcare providers on contract, regulatory and employment issues. Mr. Rogers is one of the firm's primary appellate lawyers and has been involved in numerous cases of major significance, both in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. He has achieved particular success in cases involving insurance coverage issues, antitrust claims, and product liability lawsuits. Mr. Rogers is a licensed clinical psychologist and advises clients on legal issues associated with mental health treatment. Another of his particular areas of focus is HIPPA and medical records. Mr. Rogers has also received the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of Business and represents employers and their insurers in employee benefit matters. He regularly defends employers in discrimination and harassment lawsuits, along with other matters.
