Badrinath Dham

Badrinath Dham is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites and part of the Char Dham and Chota Char Dham circuits in India. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of about 3,300 meters (10,827 feet), the temple is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River.

Badrinath Temple

The Badrinath Temple is a 15-meter-tall structure built in traditional Garhwali architecture. Located at a height of 3133m, the Badrinath temple is a 15m black structure dating back to the Vedic Ages. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu, who is idolized as Badrinath and is a sanctified shrine for Indians. The temple is located in Garhwal hill in Chamoli district on the banks of Alaknanda River. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in India. The image of the reigning deity worshiped in the temple is a black stone sculpture of Vishnu in the form of Badrinarayan. The statue is considered by many Hindus to be a self-manifestation of Vishnu. Mata Murti Ka Mela, which celebrates the origins of river Ganges on earth, is the most noticeable festival celebrated in the Badrinath Temple. The temple is cited in early religious texts. Divided into three assemblies: the Garbhagriha, the Darshan Mandap and Sabha Mandap, the conical shaped roof of the hall, the garbhagriha, is a gold gilded roof. The main monument is the black stone image of Badrinarayan, which is retained in a gold canopy under a Badri Tree. The Tapt Kund, a cluster of hot sulphur springs just below the temple, is considered to be therapeutic.

Chandrika Devi Temple

Chandrika Devi Temple: Chandrika Devi Temple is another famous religious attraction of Gopeshwar which is also known as Maa Mahishasur Mardini Temple. Gangotri Dham

The temple is situated on the right bank of the Bhagirathi River, surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan peaks and lush forests.

Gangotri Temple

Gangotri shrine, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, is one of the four revered Char Dham in Uttarakhand. Thousands of devotees visit Gangotri temple every year to seek blessings from the Goddess Ganga. Gangotri along with Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath forms the Chota Char Dham which is an important pilgrimage place for Hindus. The temple itself offers scenic views of the Himalayas. It is the highest and the most important temple of goddess Ganga. Perched atop at an elevation of over 3000 meters amidst lush green hills with the mighty Ganga flowing by its side, the shrine is a cynosure of all eyes. Just like the other Char Dham, Gangotri shrine also closes down in winters. During this time the idol of the goddess is shifted to Ma Ganga temple in Mukhba, which is approximately 20 kilometers downstream. The shrine of Gangotri is about 300-years-old which was first built by the Gorkha Commander Amar Singh Thapa. It was later renovated by Jaipur King in the 19th century.

Patal Bhuvaneshwar

Patal Bhubaneshwar, which literally means the sub-terranian shrine of Lord Shiva is a cave temple located about 91 kms. from Didihat and 14 kms north of Gangolihat. The way to the temple is through a tunnel which leads into a cave and through a narrow dark passage of water.

Vishwanath Temple

Believed to be built by Parashuram, the Lord Vishwanath temple in Uttarkashi houses the Kedar Khanda or Skanda Puran. Later, in 1857 Maharani Khaneti renovated the temple. The Shivlinga which is 60 cm tall and is 90 cm in circumference draws many Shiva devotees from across the country.
