In 2004, LEARN was created when Texas research institutions and health science centers reached a consensus on a shared vision that it was strategically important to create an organization dedicated to high performance networking in Texas... LEARN's Board of Directors governs the overall affairs of the corporation with committees advising the Board on specific operational and policy issues. The standing committees of the Board include Finance, Governance and Participation, and Operations and Services. Additionally, an Audit Committee consisting of three elected Board members and an independent advisor monitors the conduct of the annual independent audit. The Board also creates ad hoc committees of the Board as necessary.
