Anna Roberts

Anna attained an MA in Psychology from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology along with a BA in Psychology from Oakland University. She is a practiced therapist with children, adolescents, teens and adults in group and private therapies for mental health concerns providing crisis management, individual support and education of coping skills and is experienced in administering neuropsychological tests. At United Psychological Services, her focus is to provide therapy for all ages, children adolescents, adult as well as the aged population. She uses her background of humanistic psychological education to create a trusting environment of self- expression, and exploration, leading to individual betterment and acceptance. She works with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, self- esteem, and building healthy relationships. She also uses her crisis management experience to assist at risk individuals develop healthier coping skills. Anna is also a part of our neurocognitive intervention team.

Arthur J. Lewandowski

Job Titles:

Dr. Lewandowski had been a practicing clinical psychologist for 54 years before retiring. During his career he specialized in the field of health/medical psychology with an emphasis on patients with chronic conditions such as heart disease, cancer and neurological conditions. In addition, he worked in community mental health with the variety of settings from out-patient child and adult clinics, day treatment, in-patient settings including county jails, and in administration as chief psychologist engaged in quality assurance, clinical oversight and program development. He held consultant positions with coronary hospital programs, ICU and Emergency departments and conducted behavioral research and training on stress and predisposing factors to illness. Dr. Lewandowski was a consultant doing evaluation and treatment with nursing/rehabilitation patients and was directly involved in the application of telemedicine for services to remote nursing homes. Most recently he was a senior clinical psychologist at UPS engaged in treatment, diagnostic evaluations, and supervision. His credentials include member of American Psychological Association where he received the Carl F. Heiser award for advocacy in public policy and licensing for psychologists. He has been a Fellow and president of Michigan Psychological Association and committee chair of Licensing, Public Service, Integrated Health Services. He was an Adjunct Professor of clinical psychology at Oakland University Center for Health Sciences and University of Detroit, Graduate Clinical Psychology program. Dr. Lewandowski is currently at United Psychological Services in the position of Clinical Psychologist Emeritus.

Bethann Kalt

Job Titles:

Dr. Kalt attained a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy and a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Michigan. She has been in private practice since 1994 and also provides supervision to clinical psychology graduate students and master level clinicians. Dr. Kalt was also a teaching professor at Madonna University. At United Psychological Services, Dr. Kalt assists the psychological evaluation process and provides supervision to the staff administering psychological evaluations. She is available to United Psychological Services patients who need assistance with FMLA forms and medical leave based upon psychiatric status.

Brittany Best

Brittany Best received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology through Wayne State University and achieved her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a fully licensed professional counselor. Brittany has had experience in many different positions in the mental health field. She started out by providing Community Living Services and Respite services to adolescents on the Autism Spectrum. She then went on to become an RBT and provide Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy to children on the spectrum for many years. After achieving her limited license in counseling, she was a part of an In-Home Crisis Stabilization therapy program located in Macomb County where she obtained a certification in Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has experience with children, adolescents, adults, virtual and face to face settings.

Carolin Mann-Bomar

Carolin is on the evaluation team at United Psychological Services, administering neuropsychological evaluation for memory to rule out cognitive decline. She provides neurocognitive intervention for children, adults and the aged as well as therapy to address relationship problems, depression, anxiety and substance abuse. She applies her experience and knowledge of neurological disorders and individuals coping with cognitive decline and the impact of brain injury to her practice. Carolin attained a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor's in Psychology, both from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.

Christina Johnson

Christina Johnson's education includes a bachelor's degree in psychology from Michigan State University and a master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy. She is experienced in substance abuse issues as well as general mental health. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Macomb Community College, teaching a variety of psychology courses. At United Psychological Services; Chrissy provides general therapy to all age categories. She specializes in grief and loss, as well as anxiety, depression and ADHD. Chrissy runs the cognitive behavioral non-medication treatment program for ADD/ADHD. She helps middle and high schoolers as well as college students, adults and the aged population to develop structure and positive habits in their daily lives. For many years Chrissy has been making a significant difference in the lives of children, adolescents and adults in their struggle with attention. She is currently spearheading our evolving program targeting improved gait and mobility in the aged population as well as working on increased attention in order to avoid falls. Chrissy has an expertise and is highly skilled in working with teenagers; specifically, male teens struggling with depression, sexuality and social anxiety.

Daniel J. Zak

Dr. Zak attained his medical degree from Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed both his residency in General Adult Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Michigan State University's Department of Psychiatry. During his child fellowship, he accumulated inpatient experience at The University of Michigan, Mott Children's Hospital and at The University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to medical school, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Medical Dietetics from Wayne State University followed by a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Zak is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a member of several professional organizations such as the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, The American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists and The American Psychiatric Association. His professional experience is considerable and includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, teaching and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults; with special emphasis on the treatment of autism, anxiety, ADHD, depression and severe behavioral problems with children and adolescents. Dr. Zak has worked with a diverse population of patients, including the underserved and chronically ill in a variety of settings, including outpatient, day treatment, inpatient, residential and foster care. At United Psychological Services, Dr. Zak's clinical contribution will include therapeutic intervention as well as medical management based on the biopsychosocial model of medicine which emphasizes an approach to treatment that is patient centered and evidence based.

Danielle R. Zipay

Danielle earned a master's degree in School and Professional Counseling and a bachelor's in Family Studies; both from Central Michigan University. Her practice at United Psychological Services involves providing therapies across the age spectrum with a unique ability to help children and adolescents ranging in age from three to eighteen years. She provides cognitive behavioral therapeutic intervention to address ADD/ADHD symptoms and has been very successful in making a difference in the daily lives of the patients she treats. She administers the child therapeutic intervention aspect of the school refusal program. Danielle is trained and highly skilled in our individualized cognitive behavioral treatment to address neurocognitive deficits related to executive reasoning, memory and visual perceptual deficits working with the full age spectrum from young children to adults and the aged population. She has proven that she can help individuals improve dramatically in their neurocognitive functioning specifically in areas of memory and executive reasoning. Danielle is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals suffering with brain behavior disorders.

Danielle Szokola

Danielle Szokola is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she obtained a master's degree in clinical health psychology. She has a specialty in health psychology as well as specialized training and interest in neuropsychological testing and evaluation. In addition, Danielle has research experience in clinical psychology and psychoneurocardiology. At United Psychological Services, Danielle is involved with neuropsychological testing and evaluation working under the direction of Dr. Rich and Dr. Lewandowski to manage the testing programs for neuropsychological and psychological assessment. She is a co-author on various ongoing research projects and published abstracts relating to the diagnosis of ADD/ADHD as well as the efficacy of the cognitive behavioral training programs for brain injury, dementia and attention provided at United Psychological Services.

Elaina is a Licensed Master Social Worker, attaining a Master of Social Work from Wayne State University as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Grand Valley State University. She is a practiced therapist in both online and in person therapies as well as therapeutic experience with inmates in the county correctional systems. She is skilled in crisis management, suicide prevention and risk assessment. She has experience working with substance users, as well as a wide range of mental health disorders. At United Psychological Services she is involved in our neurocognitive intervention program to address memory and executive deficits for children, adolescents and the aging population. She provides therapeutic intervention for all ages, children adolescents, adults, and the aging population. She practices with a psychotherapy approach and is constantly striving to learn new skills, as well as obtaining a variety of trainings to further develop her abilities as a clinician.

Gemma Fioritto

Hana Camaj

Hana is a limited licensed psychotherapist in the state of Michigan and has earned both a bachelor's and master's degree at Wayne State University in psychology with an emphasis on marriage and family psychology at the master's level. As a therapist for more than fifteen years, her work has focused on helping individuals facing marriage and family issues including parenting techniques, behavioral modification and working with families on a proactive approach to issues that arise in their family life. Her experience includes crisis interventions with development of safety plans, and working with children struggling with poor impulse control. Her therapeutic focus at United Psychological Services includes children, adolescents, adults and the aged population. She is helping adults and the aged population, recover from brain injury. Hana works with children and adolescents to address academic issues such as school phobia, anxiety, depression as well as special needs. She utilizes our unique cognitive behavioral training program to provide services for all ages to address neurocognitive deficits resulting from brain injury, dementia or arising from any type of brain impact. At United Psychological Services Hana utilizes her experience and expertise to work with people dealing with a wide range of emotional and neurocognitive deficits; understanding the pervasive impact of executive reasoning deficits upon memory, language and attention. She has made a difference in the everyday lives of individuals by being highly perceptive and understanding the issues they are struggling with.

Hayley J. Peterson

Hayley Peterson will be seeing individuals of all ages at United Psychological Services, working with the aged population to address memory deficits and cognitive decline as well as the brain injured population. She has an expertise and background in working with the brain injured population for treatment to address post-injury neurocognitive deficits. Hayley will be providing services for children of all ages; from very young to teenage years; specializing in our treatment program that addresses attention issues and neurocognitive deficits in the areas of memory, executive reasoning and visual perception. She provides parent training and family therapy in addition to and coalescing with her treatment programs for young children. As a behavioral therapist; she offers creative and innovative methods to address problematic behaviors at home and in the school setting and has specific training and experience helping children on the autism spectrum in social skills adaptation. Hayley attained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, specializing in child and adolescent clinical psychology from the University of Detroit and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Michigan. She has a broad range of experience and training in therapies related to the autism spectrum and developmental disabilities. She is adept at coordinating treatment with a wide array of other professions to ensure the finest quality of care for her patients, including integrating treatment plans with school and medical professionals.

Janice Zajac

Janice Zajac has more than thirty years of experience as a school psychologist. She is particularly skilled in understanding various learning and developmental disabilities as well as the diagnostic tools that the school and state use to evaluate eligibility for academic accommodations. This depth of experience and understanding is an invaluable resource for parents of students struggling in school. She provides an essential resource at United Psychological Services for parents unaware of or confused by school accommodations. Ms. Zajac has a broad depth of therapeutic experience with school children of all ages including but not limited to crisis intervention, behavior modification plans and social skills training. At our clinic, she provides these services in addition to therapy to address depression, anxiety as well as other emotional issues. At United Psychological Services, Ms. Zajac also provides therapy for individuals working through grief processes such as divorce, empty nest syndrome and the loss of a loved one. She is a limited license psychologist and received both her bachelor's degree in education and Specialist in School and Community Psychology from Wayne State University.

Jennifer L. Cole

Jennifer received her Master's in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University. She has many years of therapeutic experience with all ages including family and group therapy specific to addictions counseling. At United Psychological Services, her focus continues to be that of psychological issues affecting all ages with a specific interest in teenagers struggling with depression and anxiety disorders. Jennifer has been trained in our cognitive behavioral intervention program to work with all ages, from young children to the aged population addressing neurocognitive deficits of memory and executive reasoning. Highly versatile, she is able to relate to all age populations and use her experience and knowledge to help individuals suffering from dementia and neurological disorders. At United Psychological Services, Jennifer sees individuals diagnosed on the autism spectrum, dementia, brain injury as well as children and adolescents struggling to learn and retain newly learned information. Jennifer has been making a difference in the lives of individuals working with them therapeutically on many different levels; addressing daily organization and implementation of structure to complete necessary tasks, including good sleep hygiene.

Karen Brickner

Karen is an experienced therapist and highly skilled clinician, with more than 30 years in the field. Experienced in many types of cognitive therapies, she assists individuals with problems in daily living, including anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Working exclusively with adults, she has made a significant difference in the lives of people struggling with mood and panic disorder, divorce recovery, sexual abuse issues, insomnia, and sleep problems. Her specialized grief and loss training has enabled her to help numerous clients work through the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or a pet. Karen's work has also included members of the LGBTQ community. Karen earned a master's degree in Educational Psychology, and a bachelor's degree in psychology, both from Wayne State University in Detroit. She was a Merit Scholar all 3 years of her master's program, as well as the last 2 years of her undergraduate curriculum.

Karen Teresa Blair

Karen earned a master's degree in School and Professional Counseling from Wayne State University and a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education in English and Family Life Sciences from Western Michigan University. Ms. Blair is a limited license professional counselor. She has been in the field of education for twenty-five years, as a teacher and school guidance counselor and brings a wealth of knowledge about the school setting. At United Psychological Services she is involved as a part of the evaluation team as well as the school refusal program. In addition, she provides intervention to help individuals return to school with ongoing support.

Katherine Hitchcock

At United Psychological Services, she assists with and reviews psychological evaluations.

Kristen Hodge

Kristen attained a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy, specializing in child development, and a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Rochester College. She has worked as a school psychologist, administering tests to students with suspected learning and/or socioemotional difficulties, as well as a therapist within various contexts. Kristen has worked in drug court, treatment centers, the juvenile detention center and foster care, specifically with youth struggling with substance abuse and trauma-related issues, where she has provided family, group, and individual psychotherapy. She has participated in research examining the effects of radiation on memory and neurogenesis; analyzing visual attention processes through tracking eye movement, and neurofeedback. She is a college professor, instructing students in various psychology courses. We are pleased to welcome Kristen to United Psychological Services where she will be working with children, adolescents, young adults, and the aged population. She has been trained in our neurocognitive programs addressing attention as well as memory and executive reasoning. Given her background, she will also address substance abuse and trauma-related issues, especially working with the adolescent and young adult population.

Laura M. Stephens

Laura has a diverse background and several years of experience in psychological practice including cognitive therapies. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, specializing in helping clients with executive functioning deficits resulting from genetic factors or traumatic brain injury, particularly children and adolescents struggling with ADD/ADHD, memory deficits, social skills and language integration and children on the autism spectrum. She collaborates with school support staff in making recommendations for her client's individualized education plan(s) for developmentally appropriate academic targets as well as necessary curriculum and behavioral accommodations. In combination, she has considerable experience acting as a conduit between parents and school academic and behavioral support teams. Her practice encompasses individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD and sleep dysfunction in clients of all ages as well as specialization in a number of therapeutic techniques. These include cognitive rehabilitation and cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, behavior management and applied behavior analysis. Laura attained a master's degree in Clinical Behavioral Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Oakland University. She has earned several specialized certifications in the field including board certification in Behavior Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Clinical Trauma Professional certifications. She is currently working on an additional master's degree in Clinical Mental Health and Clinical Rehabilitation.

Leigh M. Jouppi

Leigh Jouppi is a limited licensed psychologist. She has attained a master's degree in Clinical Behavioral Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Michigan University. At United Psychological Services, Leigh provides therapy across the age range with a focus on anxiety and depression. She is a behavioral specialist; applying her experience and techniques to breaking down and retraining targeted behaviors in many areas and with all ages. She has applied these skills at our clinic to a special program for school children struggling with ADD/ADHD. This specialized program, developed by Leigh, focuses on organizational skills with an emphasis on essential routines such as morning and bedtime routine in addition to school routines such as homework and study. Leigh has been trained in and uses her own behavioral techniques to address poor sleep habits and sleep hygiene as well as sleep onset and maintenance insomnia. Additionally, Leigh uses her expertise in working with children, teens, adults and the aged population to address executive reasoning, memory and visual perceptual deficits resulting from mild cognitive decline, brain injury and different types of dementia and neurodegenerative disorders using cognitive behavioral intervention. She is trained and skilled in working with individuals struggling with ADD/ADHD using our cognitive behavioral non-medication treatment program.

Lisa Weiss

Lisa Weiss received her Master's degree in Psychology from Vermont College of Norwich University after obtaining a Bachelor's in Psychology from Wayne State University. She has a certification as a Brain Injury Specialist from the American Academy of Brain Injury Specialists - Brain Injury Association of America. Lisa has extensive experience with the brain injured population. She is well known in the field of brain injury. Lisa has wide ranging experience including general therapy across the age continuum, assessment and therapeutic programs involving parenting skills, maladaptive behaviors and job placement for physically, cognitively and emotionally challenged individuals. She is astute in the assessment of those physically and cognitively challenged as it relates to eligibility for services; forming treatment plans and realigning goals with the needs of her patients. At United Psychological Services, Lisa works with the brain injured population providing treatment and goal setting plans for our patients and their families affected by traumatic brain injury. She is involved with our individualized cognitive behavioral treatment program for attention, memory and executive reasoning. Lisa has been highly successful in getting individuals back to their careers or academic study. Lisa is trained and skilled in working with ADD/ADHD using our cognitive behavioral non medication treatment program. In addition, Lisa uses her experience and wide ranging skills to provide individual therapy for adults and the aged population addressing all psychological disorders and symptoms. She works with mild cognitive decline and various forms of dementia and neurodegenerative disorders providing United Psychological Service's cognitive behavioral individualized treatment program to address brain behavior deficits in areas of executive reasoning, memory and visual perceptual processing. She is particularly skilled in the area of executive reasoning and has been singularly helpful in providing treatment intervention.

Maryam Bajawa

Maryam is a compassionate Clinical Psychologist committed to serving patients by listening to concerns and guiding patients in approaching behavioral mental and emotional problems. She is adept at interviewing individuals to identify psychological needs and is well versed in various psychological techniques, including cognitive behavioral, evidence-based and emotion-focused therapies and is involved with our neuropsychological testing team at United Psychological Services. Maryam specializes in working with adolescents, tweens, adults and the aged population for therapy as well as marital and family therapy. Maryam attained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Rochester University, Rochester, Michigan. She is especially interested in helping trauma survivors and is fluent in the middle eastern culture and languages.

Matthew Bach

Matthew Bach has attained a Master of Arts in Christian Theology at Western Theological Seminary and Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Capella University. He has experience in an integrated inpatient setting as well as working with youths with severe psychiatric disorders and behavioral problems. Additionally, Matthew has clinical background with children, adolescents and adults in an inpatient setting. At United Psychological Services, Matthew administers neuropsychological testing for attention disorders, dementia, and memory issues. He is specifically trained to provide treatment for attention using a specific non-medication treatment intervention at this facility. He works with children, teens and adults. Matthew integrates spirituality and a biblical perspective to treatment for those patients who would like that accommodation. He supports patients in exploring feelings of anger, frustration, loss, grief, anxiety and depression through the lens of a theoretical Christian perspective.

Melissa Nickel

Melissa Nickel received a Master's in Psychology with a concentration in neuropsychology from Middle Tennessee State University and a B.A. in Psychology from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Research and neuropsychological evaluation have been the focus of her education. She has a wealth of experience in testing and evaluation; working with patients from age 4 to 91 years with a wide range of diagnostic issues. Melissa has been involved in both human and animal research and has considerable experience in this area. She has been a research assistant, participating in a number of projects addressing a range of topics from memory and learning to alcoholism as well as head injury and concussion. She has completed animal and human research to address models of operant conditioning and alcohol seeking behavior. She has a wide range of experience including working with the autism spectrum, aged and brain injury population. At United Psychological Services, Melissa is providing neuropsychological testing for all ages from young children to the aged. She has an excellent rapport with the individuals she evaluates and the ability to make all ages feel comfortable with the testing process. Melissa will be providing therapy as well as neurocognitive intervention for all ages given her specialization in the neuropsychology field.

Merrie Geiger

Merrie has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology following a B.S. in Psychology from Rochester University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Her clinical experience includes individual, family and couples therapy as well as school-based therapy for students in Kindergarten to 4th grade dealing with anxiety, depression, sexuality and identity concerns, trauma/PTSD and Asperger's Syndrome among others. She is involved in the neuropsychological testing and assessment team at United Psychological Services as well as the neurocognitive therapy program. She truly enjoys administering testing and making patients comfortable in the testing process.

Patrick Rivard

Dr. Rivard brings a broad range of educational and professional expertise to our staff at United Psychological Services. He achieved both a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance from Oakland University, followed by a Master's degree in Psychology, with a Specialty in Substance Abuse/Misuse from the University of Detroit - Mercy culminating in a Ph.D. in Child/Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit - Mercy, with a Specialty in School Psychology. Dr. Rivard is also a Certified Social Worker with the State of Michigan. His skills and experience include working as a Child Welfare Specialist for the State of Michigan Department of Social Services in a variety of positions including home based therapy and crisis intervention across the age spectrum. He has many years of experience as a school psychologist that include testing evaluation and therapy for a variety of issues, including severe cognitive disabilities. This experience encompassed working with children affected by autism, learning problems and attention deficits. Dr. Rivard also assisted parents/caretakers with obtaining guardianship through the court system. He is practiced in the specifics of services that the school setting provides and how to work within that system to achieve the best results for the student. Dr. Rivard is very unique in his ability to provide services from so many different perspectives. Dr. Rivard has also worked with adults in many settings including both Macomb and Oakland County Community Mental Health Programs. At United Psychological Services, Dr. Rivard provides therapeutic intervention for all ages from very young children to the elderly. He applies his experience to parents of students struggling in school, assisting and advising them in obtaining help for their child (such as classroom accommodations). He is skilled in providing individual therapy for children as well as teaching coping methods and behavioral interventions.

Pauline K. Setser

Pauline Setser attained both a Master of Arts in Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She is experienced in many aspects of therapy including adult, couples and group counselling focusing on strength based, client focused therapy related to problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. At United Psychological Services, Pauline is involved with the testing process; utilizing her skills with children, adolescents, adults and the aged to address issues in testing that can negatively impact neuropsychological evaluation. Her expertise is helpful in putting the aged population at ease to complete accurate dementia assessment. Pauline will also be providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults and the aged population. She has been trained in the nonmedication treatment program for attention issues offered at this facility as well as neurocognitive treatment for memory and executive reasoning. Her testing experience works effectively to evidence the connection between the neuropsychological data and prescribed treatment to see the clinical impact revealed by the evaluation process.

Rachel Zuniga

Rachel Zuniga has attained a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan Flint with a minor in Substance Abuse Treatment. Her clinical experience includes a practicum focusing on women who have experienced human trafficking and the various treatments associated with it such as crisis intervention, safety planning, group therapy and life skills training. At United Psychology Services, Rachel provides therapy in addition to our nonmedication treatment program, including our programs addressing attention and memory and executive reasoning issues. Her therapeutic expertise reaches across the age spectrum from the very young to the aged and her practice includes neurocognitive evaluation and assessments for all ages.

Samantha Laine

Samantha is a licensed clinical social worker, earning a Master of Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University as well as a Bachelor of Social Work from Oakland University. She has experience in crisis work, providing prompt crisis intervention to children, adolescents, and families during times of urgency. Her experience is in providing mental health treatment to a wide range of populations, including but not limited to those experiencing serious emotional disturbances, behavioral concerns, as well as working with the developmentally disabled. She is experienced in facilitating individual therapy as well as family therapy with children, adolescents, young adults, and families experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and psychosis. Samantha also has specific training in Motivational Interviewing. At United Psychological Services, her practice includes a focus on therapy for children, adolescents and young adults. In addition, she works with parents and families in training and intervention in a number of areas including trauma. She is highly skilled in providing crisis intervention and addressing suicidal ideation.

Sharna DeLuca

Sharna DeLuca is a compassionate, multifaceted professional counselor with years of training and experience in developing and executing treatment plans for adolescents and adults affected by substance abuse addictions and mental illnesses. At United Psychological Services her practice sphere is wide ranging, specializing in therapy for trauma, FASD, depression, anxiety, child/adolescent sexual deviance, sexuality, juvenile delinquency and family therapy. She is a licensed Professional Counselor, earning a Master of Arts in counselling from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan following a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University. Her experience includes both individual and group work with adolescents in the juvenile justice system, providing therapy focused on issues related to delinquency, drug use, mental illness and sexual misconduct. She also has an extensive background working with emotionally disabled adolescents. Sharna has earned certification as a Families Moving Forward specialist, that allows her to work with parents of children with FASD to provide psychoeducation and practical skills that help both parent and child with goal setting and achieving success.

Toni R. Pruss

Toni Pruss completed a master's program in clinical psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007 and specializes in child and adolescent clinical psychology. She attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Michigan State University in 2005. Toni has spent the last ten years working with patients on the autism spectrum across all age categories. She compliments our clinical team in her expertise in this area in many ways. Her behavioral interventions include teaching children and adolescents' necessary social skills and the means to adapt their behavior to various social situations as they are encountered. At United Psychological Services, Toni works with young children from a behavioral perspective to address out of control behaviors at home or at school. Her years of experience and creativity allow her to quickly and effectively think of methods to address problem specific behaviors. Her training in outreach coordination naturally propels her to coordinate care with teachers and administrators in the school setting. In addition; Toni works with children, adolescents and adults in general therapy as well as providing our individualized therapeutic cognitive behavioral intervention for memory and executive reasoning. She is familiar with the impact of executive reasoning deficits upon cognitive as well as social development. She is highly dedicated and motivated to encourage those that she works with to guide them in making changes that will enhance their everyday lives.

Tracy Shukwit

Tracy is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a broad range of clinical experience and more than twenty years in practice working with adolescents and adults. Her focus has been in cognitive behavioral therapy; completing accurate clinical assessment, establishing appropriate and relevant therapeutic goals and selecting the best possible intervention. She has extensive experience in working to diminish stressors, identify motivating factors, build support systems and increase everyday functioning to the individual's potential. She is an excellent communicator and patient advocate, experienced in working with diverse socio-economic populations. Both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees were attained at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. At United Psychological Services, she will be providing therapeutic services to adolescents and adults addressing crisis management, acute as well as chronic disorders, coordinating with medical providers and community resources. Tracy addresses a wide array of mental health issues building a strong rapport to effect change with the goal of maximizing individual potential, self-esteem and communication skills. She is a firm believer that negative thoughts can be substituted for positive change. Her experience allows her to address a wide range of emotional disorders and concern.
