Ventura Hobbies first opened in 1987, but the "roots" of the business go back to 1946 when the Atkins Family started a Hobby & Craft store in Santa Barbara California. As a young teenager, Vernon Morseman went to work for Tom Atkins, who took the young model builder under his wing and taught him the business... At Ventura Hobbies the combined experience of the knowledgeable and helpful staff bring over 100 years of model-building expertise to the customer as well as a diverse knowledge of all facets of the hobby industry.
