Andrew J. Vella

Andrew J. Vella is the newest associate at Vella & Lund, P.C. He has been with the firm since 2003 and has represented clients in a dozen counties throughout Northern Illinois. Attorney Vella has successfully handled a variety of civil matters including divorce and paternity actions, real estate, contract law, foreclosure and eviction matters, trusts and wills, probate matters, bankruptcy, personal injury cases and also some criminal matters including DUI, and traffic offenses. Attorney Vella has obtained favorable settlements and judgments for his clients at both the Federal and State level. In addition to being admitted to the Illinois State Bar, Attorney Vella is licensed to practice in front of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He also serves as an arbitrator pursuant to the Illinois Supreme Court Rules governing the mandatory arbitration. Prior to joining the firm Attorney Vella graduated from the Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He received his J.D. from Northern Illinois University.

BARBARA GIORGI VELLA

BARBARA GIORGI VELLA is an associate in the firm of Vella & Lund, P.C. She has been associated with the firm since 1992. She has concentrated her practice in the following areas: family law, probate, real estate, contracts, adoptions, and other civil matters. Attorney Vella has handled many dissolution and paternity cases, represents children as a Guardian ad Litem or Child Representative and conducts mediator for family court. In addition to being an attorney, Attorney Vella is a trained mediator and trained Guardian ad Litem. Originally she was trained as a teacher and counselor. She believes that she brings all these skills to her role as an advocate. She received her B.A. degree from the Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin, her M. A. Degree from the Northern Illinois University in Counseling and her J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law cum laude. She is a member of the Winnebago County Bar Association and Illinois Bar Association. She is a member of the Mediation Committee and volunteers as an Attorney for the Kid's Place, a drop-in center for children at the courthouse. She has served on numerous Boards and is presently a Board Member of LaVoz Latina.

DAVID A. VELLA

DAVID A. VELLA is an associate at Vella & Lund, P.C. He has been with the firm since 2000. He has successfully represented individuals in all counties in Northern Illinois. Attorney Vella has defended criminal and juvenile matters including drug charges, murder, state benefits fraud, reckless homicide, traffic offenses, sexual assault, and abuse and neglect. Attorney Vella has represented people from all walks of life. Attorney Vella is familiar with laws pertaining to criminal and juvenile cases. He has received not guilty verdicts in murder cases as well as numerous other matters. Prior to joining the Firm, Attorney Vella was a Winnebago County Public Defender. He received his Bachelor's Degree From Augustana College and his JD from Northern Illinois University. David is active in the community and serves on several volunteer Boards.

FRANK P. VELLA - CEO

FRANK P. VELLA is the managing partner of Vella & Lund. He founded the firm in 1969. In his 40 years of practice, Mr. Vella has become a well-known figure throughout Illinois in the legal community. He has successfully represented thousands of individuals in every aspect of the legal system, from murder to traffic, wrongful death to small claims, from reckless homicide to DUI, and everything in between. During his four-decade career, Mr. Vella's clients have included corporations, business owners, politicians, doctors, and lawyers. However, it is the " average citizens" that has been the committed core of his extensive client base over the years. Attorney Vella presently manages the law firm of eight attorneys with over 100 years of combined experience. The Vella & Lund support staff includes multiple interpreters to serve their extensive Hispanic client base. Attorney Vella graduated from the College of Santa Fe. He received his law degree from Marquette University School of Law. He is the son-in-law of the late Zeke Giorgi. He has been joined in his practice by his sons, David and Andrew, and his wife Barbara Giorgi Vella.

Jerry A. Lund

Jerry A. Lund is a partner with Vella & Lund and has been with the firm since 1988. Since joining the firm he has successfully represented numerous individuals charged in both State and Federal Courts. Attorney Lund has handled criminal investigations and prosecutions involving drug conspiracy, murder, HUD fraud, defense contractor fraud, bank fraud, reckless homicide, and Driving Under the Influence. He has represented a wide array of individuals, including law enforcement officers, corporate executives, public officials, business owners, professional athletes, and lawyers. Attorney Lund has represented individuals in state courts throughout Illinois. He is also a member of the Federal Trial Bar and has handled federal cases in every district in Illinois, and in Federal District Courts in Washington, Texas, Missouri and Wisconsin. He has obtained not guilty verdicts on a wide array of cases, including First Degree Murder. He has extensive experience in narcotics cases and has obtained not guilty verdicts and suppression orders in numerous drug cases. Prior to joining the firm, Attorney Lund was a Winnebago County Assistant State's Attorney. He received his B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana Champion and his J.D. from Northern Illinois University School of Law, cum laude.

Paul R. Vella

PAUL R. VELLA was licensed in 1996, and has been with the firm since 1999. Since joining the firm, he has successfully defended numerous individuals in Illinois and Wisconsin. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at the Winnebago County Public Defender's Office for several years. Attorney Vella has handled numerous criminal cases and has successfully tried cases involving drugs, murder, reckless homicide, sexual abuse, juvenile matters, traffic and Driving Under the Influence. Attorney Vella is licensed to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin, Federal Court, and in the Supreme Court of the United States. Attorney Vella graduated Cum Laude from Northern Illinois Law School where he won the Francis G. Mays Award for the highest grades in the area of criminal law, procedure, and evidence. He serves on the Northern Illinois University Law School Board of Visitors. He was appointed a Council Member of the Traffic Laws and Courts Section by the Illinois State Bar Association. He was appointed by the Supreme Court of Illinois to be on its Juvenile Courts Committee. He is also a liasion with the Supreme Court Committee on Domestic Violence and Human Trafficing. He is a member of the 17th Judicial Circuit's Human Trafficking Court Response Team. He established the Paul R. Vella award at NIU Law School for the graduating student who has worked as a 711 for a public criminal law office and has the highest grades in the area of criminal law, evidence, and trial matters.
