In this month's Whisper Cup with its different format of a combination of best ball and aggregate score, it was the pair of Greg Shaw and Byron Balsells who came out on top with a net score of 98. This topped the runners-up by a single stroke by capitalizing on the front nine best ball. Greg, a 15 handicap, and Byron, an 18 handicap, shot 5 under par 31 on the front that proved the difference. In a tie for second place just one stroke behind the winners were the teams of Jeff Hickman and Bruce Wilder along with Kevin Maust and his "Ghost Partner" when his partner had to withdraw on the second hole for medical reasons. Jeff Hickman definitely had the indvidual best round on the day shooting a gross 69, net 65... There was a big gap between the top three pairs and their nearest chasers.
