VEA is currently governed by an elected Board of Directors consisting of eight County employees. This Board consists of four Executive Board Members (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer), one General Board Member, and a Negotiating Committee. As required by California corporation law, VEA's Board of Directors have adopted and ratified By-Laws to govern the organization. Furthermore, VEA has negotiated an agreement with a local law firm to provide legal services and legal counsel during the organizational process... The Ventura Employees' Association (VEA) was formed by a "grass roots" group of people who are employed with the County of Ventura. VEA is incorporated in accordance with the requirements of the California Secretary of State as a Non-profit Mutual Benefit Corporation and is recognized by the California State Franchise Tax Board and the Federal Internal Revenue Service.
