Dr Alinda Guynes McGowin

Dr Alinda Guynes McGowin is originally from Greenwood, MS. She attended college at the University of Mississippi and completed medical school at the University of Alabama, School of Medicine in Birmingham. She underwent her medical internship at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and completed her ophthalmology residency and surgical training at the Hamilton Eye Institute, University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. Following her training, Dr. McGowin joined the faculty of the Hamilton Eye Institute for 3 years as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis before moving to Mobile with her family in 2015 and joining our team at Vision Partners. Dr. McGowin is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and is a member of the Medical Society of Mobile, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. McGowin is comfortable diagnosing and treating all aspects of eye disorders and diseases. She has developed a large cataract surgical practice at Vision Partners, serving patients in both Mobile and Baldwin County. Additionally, Dr. McGowin is a consulting Ophthalmologist at the USA Health University Hospital, serving their Trauma Department, Burn Unit, and medical ward patients. Dr. McGowin and her husband, Sumpter, have four children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, boating in the Mobile delta, beach time and reading.

Dr. Jeffrey St. John

Dr. Jeffrey St. John is an Ophthalmologist with Vision Partners. He is a native Mobilian who received his Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors from Louisiana State University. He received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. St. John completed an Internal Medicine internship and his Ophthalmology residency with the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Ms where he served as chief resident his senior year. He received extensive training in various aspects of the diagnosis and medical and/or surgical management of several eye conditions. His specialties include cataracts, astigmatism, presbyopia, glaucoma, dry eye, uveitis, dermatochalasis (baggy eyelids), chalazion treatment and removal and several other eye conditions. He has incorporated the newest techniques in the surgical correction of cataracts through small wound phacoemulsification with insertion of monofocal, astigmatic correcting and specialty multifocal/trifocal lens implants. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Mobile Baykeeper We believe that you will enjoy your visit with him. He is very approachable and communicates well. His extracurricular activities include saltwater and freshwater fly fishing, fly tying, camping, hiking, beekeeping, waterfowl hunting and sailing. He is married to Mobile native, Dr. Madelyn King, a dermatologist with Mobile Dermatology, PC.

Dr. Leonard Rich

Dr. Leonard Rich came to Mobile after graduating from medical school at the Ohio State University, completing his Ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic, and his strabismus fellowship discipline at the University of Miami; Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Doctor Rich is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Doctor Rich is a provider for most local and national medical insurance carriers.

Linda Slade

Dr. Slade is a native of Mobile. She graduated from the University of South Dr. Slade has been part of the Vision Partners team since 2002, providing comprehensive eye examinations with an emphasis on ocular disease management as well as spectacle and contact lens fittings.

Mary Kathryn Wilson

Mary Kathryn Wilson, OD, is originally from Greenwood, MS, and completed her pre-professional undergraduate education at the University of Mississippi; with an additional four years of professional education at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2012.

Sarah Small

Dr. Small joined Vision Partners in 2015 as a comprehensive optometrist. Patients will receive a detailed eye exam by Dr. Small and vision corrective measures by providing eyeglass or contact lenses prescriptions. More importantly, she will identify and address any eye disorders that may need attention found at the exam. She works closely in collaboration with the other eye care specialists at Vision Partners.

Tim White

Tim White, O.D. was raised here in Mobile. Dr. White attended Faith Academy and The University of South Alabama before transferring to The University of Alabama at Birmingham to receive his Bachelor of Science degree. He graduated from UAB with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2005. Dr. White completed his residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL in 2006. He spent this year treating/co-managing
