Ben Hartl - VP

Ben joined Warren & Selbert in 2016. He received his BS degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Ben's primary duties are in software development and customer support.

Bill Basden - SVP

Job Titles:
  • Senior Vice - President
Bill joined Warren & Selbert in 1990. He graduated with an MS in Management from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue, with a concentration in Finance. He also received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue. Bill specializes in software development and technical support. He developed and maintains our proprietary communications package, LINK, and facilitates software integration between ABC and third-party software programs. Bill also manages and creates macros for portfolio reporting and other automation requirements.

Daniel Huthsing - VP

Daniel joined Warren & Selbert in 2018. He graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara. Daniel previously worked as a thermal engineer at Sonos, Inc. Daniel's responsibilities at Warren & Selbert include customer support, marketing and software development.

Eric Seale - CEO

Eric joined Warren & Selbert in 1986. Eric holds an MS in Finance from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He also received a BSE degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University. Eric began his career as a programmer at Data General. Eric's primary responsibilities include software development and technical support. He designed and wrote the ABC model. Eric is currently involved in the development of the partnership model for special allocation partnerships and has been actively producing custom models for clients in the renewables industry.

Erik Hellman - CEO

Erik joined Warren & Selbert in 1994. He received an MBA from the Haas Graduate School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds a BA in Legal Studies with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Berkeley. Before coming to Warren & Selbert, Erik worked as a litigation consultant for Arthur Andersen & Co. Projects included government contract violations, Superfund audits, and interpretive applications of GAAP. Erik's responsibilities include technical support and software development. He has been involved in the development of numerous ABC customizations, including our lessee after-tax analysis and lessee accounting reports. Most recently, he has designed the partnership model for special allocation partnerships, a financing structure that has become popular in the renewables industry.

Grant Grossbier

Grant joined Warren & Selbert in 2020. He graduated with a Masters in Economics and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Grant previously worked in the semiconductor industry as an engineer for Corning, as well as in the petroleum industry as a design engineer for QS Energy. Grant's responsibilities at Warren & Selbert include customer support, marketing and software development.

James Selbert - Founder

Jim co-founded Warren & Selbert in 1971. He holds an MS degree in Finance from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and a BA in Economics from the University of Cincinnati. Before starting Warren & Selbert, he worked as a financial analyst at Litton Industries and later as a cost analyst for the Ford Motor Company.

James Warren - Founder

Jim co-founded Warren & Selbert in 1971 after teaching corporate finance at the UCLA Graduate School of Management and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. A member of the California Bar, he received his J.D. from Loyola Law School. He also holds a Ph.D. in Finance, an MBA in Finance, an MA in Econometrics, and a BA in Business Administration from UCLA.

Lee Silverman - CEO

Lee joined Warren & Selbert in 1983. He is a CPA and received his MBA in Finance from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. Lee also holds a BA in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In industry, Lee worked as a senior staff accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co. in the small business division, specializing in tax and audit services. Lee's responsibilities at Warren & Selbert include technical support, marketing, and client training. Lee assists clients with unusual FAS 13 accounting issues, and has been instrumental in developing ABC accounting reports that address the recent changes proposed during the merging of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

Luke Seale - VP

Luke joined Warren & Selbert in 2016. He graduated with a BSE degree in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University. Luke previously worked as a mechanical engineer at a chemical company, and as an engineering instructor at his former high school. Luke's responsibilities at Warren & Selbert include customer support, marketing and software development.

Peter Sangas

Job Titles:

Pete joined Warren & Selbert in 1990. He graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a BA in Physics. He was previously employed by the University of California, Santa Barbara, as a project engineer, where he installed and maintained seismic instrumentation for data collection. Pete is responsible for computer system and network management, including data security. He maintains the firm's disaster recovery plan, and he implements file protection and backup procedures. Pete is also responsible for developing and managing the customer database and invoice billing system.

Raquel Chrestenson

Raquel joined Warren & Selbert in 2016. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Raquel's duties include office administration and staff support.

Richard Carlson - SVP

Job Titles:

Richard joined Warren & Selbert in 1984. He holds an MBA in Finance from Stanford University as well as an MS in Economics from the London School of Economics. He also received an MS and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. Richard has a strong manufacturing background in the automotive industry. Starting his career in engineering, Richard later became director of manufacturing before pursuing his MBA. Richard specializes in technical support and marketing. He has extensive experience in traditional equipment lease structures including leveraged aircraft and rail financings, 467 rental structures, prepaid service contracts, off-balance sheet loans, and TRAC leases.
