Evan J. Winer

Evan J. Winer was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the University of Iowa where he was a Graduate With Distinction (Cum Laude) and was chosen to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious academic honors society. He went on to attend Loyola University of Chicago School of Law where he graduated and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1988 and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1989. After working in the civil litigation division of the Chicago firm of Arnstein & Lehr, Evan became a Cook County Public Defender and gained extensive experience in all aspects of criminal defense, having been assigned to Juvenile Court, First Municipal Division, Felony Preliminary Hearings, Night Narcotics Division, and working his way up to the Felony Trial Division at 26th & California. In 1993, Evan joined his father and brother in the Law Offices of Winer & Winer where he concentrates in the defense of all criminal and traffic-related matters as well as Secretary of State license reinstatement hearings. Evan is a member of the Lake County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He serves on the Criminal Law Committee of the Lake County Bar Association. Harold H. Winer - President

Harold Winer was honored with "The President's Award" the most prestigious honorarium awarded by the Lake County Bar Association. The award banquet had the largest gathering ever of Lake County attorneys and Judges of its kind. This acknowledgement speaks volumes of his knowledge and familiarity of the law and the Lake County courthouse. Harold Winer has concentrated in traffic and criminal law for decades and has been called "The Dean of Lake County" for the simple reason that he is the most seasoned veteran of the Lake County courthouse. Harold has watched the Lake County legal community grow from a small local bar association into a large and highly respected legal community. He has been with Lake County every step of the way and earned the everlasting respect of all his colleagues and clients. Hard work and loyalty is his trademark and this is proven by his years of successful representation and litigation in DUI/Traffic and criminal law. Because of his knowledge, Hal's clients have remained loyal over the decades as he is now representing the grandchildren of his early clients!!. His biography and experience speaks for itself. On November 13, 2013, with his fellow municipal prosecutors at his side, Hal Winer was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his 50 years of service. Looking around the room it was hard to believe that many of the prosecutors were either in diapers, or not even born yet, when in 1963 Hal started his career as a municipal prosecutor.
