Austin Lange

Austin is an Associate in our litigation and disputes resolution team. He provides advice with employment, immigration, and criminal law issues. While maintaining a broad civil, commercial and criminal practice, since the early 2000s Chris has specialized in the areas of insurance law and accident compensation. His clients include IAG New Zealand Limited (trading under the State, NZI, AMI and Lumley brands) and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). Chris has been significantly involved in dealing with insurance claims arising out of the Christchurch earthquakes, acting for both property owners and insurers. Chris has always had an active involvement in community work, including providing legal advice to the St Albans Residents Association, serving on the St Albans School Board of Trustees (including as chairperson), and working as a volunteer lawyer providing legal advice through the Christchurch Community Law Centre. Chris has previously lectured and tutored at the Canterbury Law School and has been a member of the faculty at the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills Programme since 2010. Courtney Hodgson

Courtney's journey: Courtney graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Laws in 2018 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in June 2019. In 2011, prior to completing her law degree, Courtney obtained a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Relations and Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington. Before joining Young Hunter in 2024, Courtney worked for a medium sized law firm in Christchurch for five and a half years. Courtney is a legal aid provider for family law matters and is regularly appointed as Lawyer to Assist in the Family Court. Daniel Weatherley

Deborah Kinzett

Deborah's journey: She has worked in the legal industry for more than 20 years in the roles of office management and trust accounting. After working for Young Hunter from 1994 to 2007 she took time off to raise her two sons. Deborah returned to the work force in 2013 and re-joined Young Hunter in November 2022. Duncan Macintyre

Duncan is a consultant in the commercial, property and immigration teams. He is a contributing editor of Brookers Personal Injury in New Zealand, and has consistently been recognised by Best Lawyers in New Zealand as a leading lawyer in the fields of insurance law and sports law, and by Chambers & Partners Asia- Pacific Guide for sports Law. Jennifer Bunt

Jessica MacFarlane

Michael Toomey

Simon Graham

Simon is a partner in our civil and commercial litigation team. He provides advice and representation with respect to all aspects of immigration litigation, including deportation appeals, refugee and protected person appeals, residence appeals, immigration fraud and High Court appeals. In addition, Simon deals with criminal charges and appeals against convictions, employment disputes and prosecutions, health & safety prosecutions, and civil disputes. Simon is a convenor of the New Zealand Immigration and Refugee Law Committee of the New Zealand Law Society. Theresa Fitzsimmons
