Audrey J. Sirmon

An Amarillo native, Audrey J. Sirmon joined Young & Newsom in 2019. Ms. Sirmon's practice includes employment and commercial law, personal injury, and contested probate matters. Ms. Sirmon earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University. She graduated from Texas Tech School of Law in 2018, where she was active in the Board of Barristers and served on the Estate Planning and Community Property Journal. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sirmon served as Legislative Director for State Representative Justin Holland (R-Rockwall) during the 2019 Texas Legislative session. Ms. Sirmon is licensed to practice before Courts in the State of Texas and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Jeremi K. Young

Born and raised in Canadian, Texas, Jeremi Young has practiced law from offices in downtown Amarillo since 2005 after relocating from Dallas. With over a decade of experience in a wide variety of legal matters, Mr. Young represents clients involved in business litigation, personal injury and wrongful death claims, employment law matters (with a focus on wage and hour matters), construction and real estate matters, contested probate and trust cases. Clients in the Panhandle rely on Mr. Young's trial experience, his extensive legal knowledge, and his ability to achieve results through innovative solutions. Mr. Young earned his Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Starting his legal career in Dallas, he has been practicing in Texas since 1999. As a recognized authority on a wealth of legal topics, Mr. Young regularly speaks to legal and business groups throughout the country. He is also an active member of many local and national legal organizations, including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Amarillo Area Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). Mr. Young previously served as President of the Amarillo Area Young Lawyers Association and as a Director of the Amarillo Area Bar Association.

Tim Newsom

Tim Newsom began his legal career with a judicial clerkship at the Amarillo Court of Appeals, and is now in his 27th year in the practice of law. He is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. His practice includes general civil litigation, commercial litigation, personal injury, and construction litigation. Throughout his career, Mr. Newsom has represented an array of clients including small children, families, businesses and their executives, lawyers, doctors, and a judge. Verdict Search, an affiliate of Texas Lawyer Magazine, recognized Mr. Newsom as having one of the top defense verdicts in 2015 after he successfully defended a small business in a true "bet-the-company" case. Mr. Newsom has also been recognized for fifteen consecutive years as a Super Lawyer in Plaintiff's Personal Injury by Thomson Reuters. Although some of his cases have garnered media attention, Mr. Newsom has also discreetly resolved a number of matters confidentially outside the courtroom with no publicity and strict confidentiality. Mr. Newsom is a Past President of the Amarillo Area Bar Association and the Amarillo Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is the current National Board Representative of the Amarillo Chapter of ABOTA. ABOTA is a national invitation-only organization of experienced trial lawyers from both sides of the docket whose primary mission is preservation of the right to trial by jury in a civil case. The Spring 2016 edition of Voir Dire Magazine, the flagship publication of ABOTA, published an article co-authored by Mr. Newsom entitled "The American Jury" which explains how juries protect the fundamental rights of all Americans. Mr. Newsom earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College in 1989 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1992. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Mr. Newsom and his wife Judy, a registered pharmacist with a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy Economics and a founding faculty member of Texas Tech University Pharmacy School, have been married 22 years and have two children.
