Christopher Hamaty has 20 years of experience practicing intellectual property (IP) law in corporate and law-firm settings. Mr. Hamaty has experience building and managing patent portfolios, with a focus on software, security and telecommunications technologies. After working in private practice, Mr. Hamaty served as Director of Intellectual Property at McAfee, Inc. where he developed and implemented McAfee's strategic patent program and was responsible for all aspects of intellectual property management including enterprise-wide patent and trademark operations. Jamie L. Rossi joined Zilka-Kotab in 2004 and is a registered patent attorney managing the patent portfolios of some of Zilka-Kotab's large and small clients. Jamie's specialization is in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications within various technological arts, such as software, database systems, graphics processing, semiconductor processing and inspection systems, memory systems, communication systems, and speech recognition, among others. Jamie's specialization has further involved the strategic analysis of pending and issued patents for both defensive and offensive purposes, including searching and claim charting to identify potential licensing opportunities. Jamie's experience also includes working with foreign firms on the prosecution and maintenance of the foreign patent portfolios of many of Zilka-Kotab's clients. Kevin Zilka has over 25 years of experience in the intellectual property (IP) field and, as a result of his accomplishments in patent law, has been repeatedly selected as one of the world's leading 300 IP strategists by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine. After co-founding Zilka-Kotab PC over a decade ago, Mr. Zilka and his law firm partner, Dominic Kotab, built a team of over a dozen top-notch patent practitioners, represented their clients in rigorous licensing negotiations, and propelled the firm into the realm of Top 100 patent firms in the nation. Mr. Zilka specializes in building and managing patent portfolios, with a focus towards strategic patent procurement for both offensive and defense positioning to meet or exceed business objectives.
