Caroline Arnaud

Prior to this, she was a Communications and Marketing Manager at Fitzrovia (now part of Lipper). Frances Cowell

Frances Cowell is an independent investment risk consultant with extensive experience in institutional investment and hedge fund management emphasising risk management, derivatives, governance and policy oversight. Starting as equity research analyst, Frances later helped pioneer risk-controlled trading in the nascent market for financial derivatives in Australia. She then was Head of Enhanced Passive Investments at NatWest Investment Management in Australia and Head of Portfolio Risk at Morley Fund Management (now Aviva Investors) where she served on key governance bodies. She became Chief Risk Officer at CCLA Fund Management, specialising in high-yield, low-risk portfolios subject to ethical and other restrictions. Since 2009, she has served as Director of Risk Consulting at R-Squared Risk Management in Paris and London as well as working independently. She was a founding director, Treasurer and Company Secretary of the London Quant Group (www.lqg.org.uk), a not-for-profit that provides a forum for discussion of practical issues in quantitative investment techniques for the investment management industry.

Giuliana Patrone

Giuliana is a Masters graduate level journalist with strong PR experience. Before moving to the UK Giuliana worked at media intelligence company L'Eco della Stampa in Milan as a media summariser covering the healthcare, fashion, high-tech sectors. She then held PR and communication roles in leading consultancy firms: at Carlo Bruno & Associati for clients in asset management, banking and high-tech, at Wise Media where she was responsible for the Future Cities project, an appointment on urban security, sustainability and green energies, part of the Id World Rio De Janeiro Event, as well as at Competence Communication working for key client accounts. In London Giuliana has been working as a free-lance editor for Vintage Seekers and Sheerluxe, as well as Corriere Della Sera arts journalist and multimedia producer Rino Pucci's assistant. She then joined Gorkana as a free-lance media analyst, providing news from online, print media and broadcasters for the UK company leader in media intelligence. Her remit was to analyse news in order to produce a comprehensive PR insight into clients' campaigns, spanning the UK, France, Italy and Spanish media. Clients included BlackRock, Legg Mason, De Beers, Harrods, Apple, Intel, Sony and Microsoft.

Véronique brings a wealth of experience in pan-European marketing, PR and communication from luxury (Payot/Gucci, Paris) and asset management (Threadneedle and F&C, London). In France, she also worked as an M&A and Private Equity journalist at Groupe Les Echos, after gaining exposure to the sector at Crédit Lyonnais and to equity research at Deutsche Bank Private Banking. She holds a Degree in Translation with a specialism in Economics (Munich), the Investment Management Certificate (London) and the Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (London). Working languages: French (mother tongue), English, German
