Amie Kershner formed AKM Consulting LLC in 2011 after 10 years of fundraising for candidates, party committees and progressive organizations. Amie spent much of the 2016 election cycle serving as Finance Director for Priorities USA Action, the super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton. In that role, she led the team that helped to raise more than $175 million. Amie is proud to currently lead the team that serve as fundraising consultants for Senator Chris Coons, Equality PAC, Chellie Pingree for Congress and CARE. Prior to starting AKM Consulting, Amie served as Campaign Services Director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in the 2010 election cycle. As a member of the DSCC political department, she worked with top tier incumbent and challenger Senate campaigns to develop and implement strong fundraising operations. She was key in organizing and implementing events with national surrogates, including the President of the United States and the Vice President of the United States. Prior to joining the DSCC, Amie was the Major Gifts Director for EMILY's List. As the head of the Major Gift staff, Amie assisted the major gifts fundraisers across the country with research and planning. She planned the Majority Council Conference and major donor events in San Francisco, Denver and Washington, DC, including a 1,500 person luncheon with Senator Hillary Clinton. She was also responsible for managing the six member in-house major gifts staff at EMILY's List. Amie got her start in fundraising in 2002 as finance director for a PAC in Kansas designed to help elect pro-choice candidates to office, focusing primarily on Kathleen Sebelius' gubernatorial campaign. She served as Deputy Finance Director for the Nancy Farmer for U.S. Senate campaign in Missouri in 2003 where she was responsible for Western Missouri fundraising. Amie was the finance director for a congressional primary in North Carolina and after a successful primary election, Amie returned to Missouri to serve as Deputy Finance Director for Claire McCaskill for Governor. Amie holds a B.S. in Journalism and a B.S. in Political Science from Kansas State University. She currently serves on the board of directors of Emerge Maryland, of which she was founding member.
