ALICIA EDWARDS

Alicia started as a Client Services Associate at Arlington Financial Advisors in September of 2021. She was formerly the Compliance and Education Coordinator for a hospice and home care agency. She brings with her over 15 years of administrative experience in the healthcare industry. She originally hails from Chicago, Illinois and later moved to California as a child. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management. She moved to Santa Barbara in 2010 and fell in love with the town and community. Alicia enjoys hiking, writing and dancing. In her free time, she goes to concerts and sources sustainable fashion and goods to give them a second life. She adores animals and pet sits as much as possible.

Ally Meier

Ally Meier joined Arlington Financial Advisors in October of 2023 as an Associate Financial Advisor. Ally graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2018 with a BA degree in Economics and a minor in Applied Psychology. She also received her CFP® designation in November of 2020. Ally has over 7 years of experience in the financial industry as she started her career at Merrill Lynch, working her way up from an intern to a Financial Advisor. She is dedicated to working with clients to help them achieve their goals. Ally grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles but decided to join the Santa Barbara community after enjoying her four years at UCSB. Ally remains very involved at UCSB as a member of the alumni association, her sorority, and the Greek Interconnect group. She particularly enjoys the mentor relationships she has fostered since graduating. Ally is also a member of the Junior League of Santa Barbara, where she focuses on planning their annual Gala and Rummage Sale. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her puppy named Sunday.

Cody A. Makela

Cody A. Makela, CFP® joined Arlington Financial Advisors in February 2015. He is dedicated to working with clients to plan, analyze and implement solutions in their financial lives. Cody has over a decade of experience in the financial industry spending four years with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. as a Client Service Specialist. Cody is a ninth generation Santa Barbara resident, born and raised. His family history dates back to the founding of the city. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara where he earned a Bachelors of Arts in Business Economics. Cody also holds the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation. Cody enjoys surfing, spending time near the ocean, hiking, and biking. He is active in the community, volunteering for the Trust for Historic Preservation and the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. Cody lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Patty and their two daughters.

DIANNE G. DUVA

Dianne Gayoski Duva, CFP® is a founding partner of the wealth management firm of Arlington Financial Advisors in Santa Barbara. She advises high net worth families, business owners and women in transition. Dianne helps clients understand and manage their net worth and solve complex financial problems by offering advice in an array of areas including retirement planning, insurance planning, and estate and tax planning in addition to investment management. A graduate of The George Washington University, located in Washington, DC, Dianne holds the Certified Financial Planner® designation. Additionally Dianne co-hosts a weekly radio show called Money Talk on AM 1290 KZSB Newspress radio. The show covers just about everything that affects wealth, financial well-being and the global investment markets. Dianne has been very involved in the Santa Barbara community. Currently, she serves as a member of the Board of Apples to Zucchini Cooking School and the Music Academy of the West. Additionally, she serves on the Endowment Committee of The Women's Fund of Santa Barbara and the Strategic Advisory Committee for Women's Economic Ventures. In addition, Dianne was selected as a Katherine Harvey Fellow, an 18 month leadership program, in 2011. She was the President of the Junior League of Santa Barbara in 2007 and has successfully completed the Leadership Santa Barbara County program in 2005. She lives in Santa Barbara with her husband Rob and their two children.

John A. Lorenz - COO

John A. Lorenz, is a founding partner and Director of Operations at Arlington Financial Advisors. John began his career as an intern at Charles Schwab where he worked his way up to becoming Trading Supervisor. Then he worked at Mercer Global Advisors in the investment department, where he met and worked with his future Arlington partners, Joe Weiland and Wells Hughes. In 2000, he moved to Merrill Lynch before co-founding Arlington Financial Advisors in 2010. John is responsible for the day-to-day operations and compliance of Arlington Financial Advisors. John was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He graduated from University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in Business Economics. John currently serves on the investment and finance committees of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. He enjoys playing soccer, hiking and biking. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Cameron and his children Danny, Max and Cate.

Joseph R. Weiland

Joseph R. Weiland, CFP® is the managing partner of Arlington Financial Advisors. He began his career as a financial advisor in 1988 and has spent the last 3 decades advising both high net worth individuals and business owners. Mr. Weiland's clients consider him to be more than a financial expert. His position as a confidant to successful high net worth individuals has given him the ability to offer perspective and advice beyond the numbers. Whether the client is a working through a new partnership agreement, financing a business purchase or it is a couple navigating a divorce, his experience has helped avoid mistakes that can cause troubles years into the future. A graduate of University of Wisconsin, Joe holds the Certified Financial Planner® designation. Joe is dedicated to continuing education, attending numerous conferences and educational seminars each year. In addition to his client relationship responsibilities, he is responsible for developing best practices to employ to assure our clients are achieving their goals. He currently serves on the board of the Santa Barbara Club and the Land Trust of Santa Barbara County. Additionally, he is also an active member and past President of the Sunrise Rotary Club. Joe is an avid surfer and hiker. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Vibeke. His Children, Evy and Tor have both grown and moved out of the home. LINDA PLANT

Linda Plant joined Arlington Financial Advisors in April of 2023 as a Client Service Associate. She previously worked at Wells Fargo Advisors, and Morgan Stanley, obtaining her, SIE, Series 7, 66, and her Notary Association. She was born and raised in Portsmouth, England, where she later attended Manchester University to obtain a BSc in Business. After starting a family, she and her family moved to America, spending four years in Michigan and settling in Santa Barbara, where the children completed their high school years. Now US citizens, Luke,22, lives and works in San Diego, and Jodie, 21, is a student at ASU. When she is not working and spending time with her two English labs, Linda enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, arts, traveling, karaoke, and golf. Her new motto is "Just try new things, you don't have to be great at them just have fun!".

MICHAEL YANG

Michael Yang joined Arlington Financial Advisors in February of 2020 as an Associate Paraplanner. Currently on track to becoming a Financial Advisor, Michael is enrolled in the CFP® certification process. His duties involve supporting the financial advisors in client meetings, working with the director of investments to ensure efficient money movement, and providing administrative support to uphold Arlington's standards for exemplary client service. Michael grew up in Los Angeles, but attended/ graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Psychological and Brain Sciences. While in university, he quickly came to realize the beauty of Santa Barbara and has since committed to becoming a permanent member of the community. Michael is a recipient of the Eagle Scout Merit, and greatly enjoys the outdoors. In his free time he is an avid member of the fitness community, enjoys finding delicious foods, or meeting new people.

NICOLE DELOZIER

Nicole Delozier joined Arlington Financial Advisors team in June of 2021 as a Client Service Associate. She has been an administrative assistant since 2007. She was born and raised in Carpinteria California where her family has well-established roots. Nicole attended Santa Barbara City College and received an Associates in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Administration of Justice. She is the mother of 3 teenagers (Sophie 19, Jacob 17, and Robert 16). In 2015 She met her husband Rhett who is a golf instructor in Santa Barbara. Nicole enjoys cooking and creating new recipes, arts and crafts, hiking, camping, beach days, and learning to golf.

R. WELLS HUGHES

R. Wells Hughes is one of Arlington Financial Advisors' founding partners. He began his career in 1987 and his passion is helping successful professionals and their families reach their present and future financial goals. His practice is comprised of high net worth families with an emphasis in the medical and dental fields. A native of Tallahassee, Wells graduated from the University of Florida. Wells is very active in supporting the local community. He is the founding board president and now serves as an emeritus board member for the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, from whom he received the 2015 Humanitarian Award. In addition, he serves on the local advisory board for the Dream Foundation and is on the Dream Foundation Finance Committee. Wells was also active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for many years and is still mentoring the 7-year-old (now 28!) little Brother he was introduced to many years ago.

Shannon J. Pearce

Shannon J. Pearce is a founding member of the Arlington Financial Advisors team. She is the Senior Client Associate and is responsible for the most complex back office issues. In 2000, Shannon began her career in the financial industry at Merrill Lynch, where she learned the daily operations necessary to lead an administrative team. She works closely with clients to handle the day-to-day details of their financial lives. In addition, Shannon is a Public Notary. Shannon grew up in Santa Barbara and spent time in Hawaii and Lake Tahoe with her husband of 30 years, Gary, before setting down roots here to raise their two wonderful sons. Gary is a Physical Therapist and the Assistant Director of the Rehab Services Department at Community Memorial Hospital. Shannon's interests include being involved in the lives of her sons and their many activities. She enjoys running, skiing, traveling, and camping with her family. She is Co-Leader for the Rancho Goleta Disaster Preparedness Committee and is CERT certified. Since 2000, Shannon has been involved in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer which includes working as a volunteer and walking as a breast cancer survivor.
