Dr. Amy Lehman earned a Bachelor degree in Biology with a concentration in Conservation Biology from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. She then lived in West Africa as the director of Arcadia's study abroad program in Equatorial Guinea before matriculating to veterinary school at North Carolina State University. After graduation, Dr. Lehman practiced veterinary medicine in Alaska, where she particularly enjoyed working with Alaska's canine athletes and even saved the life of a small town's elected feline mayor. She decided to abandon the exciting Alaskan frontier to rejoin the Armadale team as a veterinarian. Dr. Lehman enjoys good food, people watching in all corners of the globe, reading historical fiction novels, and spending time with her family. She shares her life with her two two-legged daughters and one four-legged Irish Wolfhound.

Dr. Ashley Gavitt

Dr. Ashley Gavitt grew up in Queens, NY and currently resides in Cary, NC. She received an undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and earned a DVM degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining the Armadale Animal Hospital team, Dr. Gavitt practiced in East Moriches, Long Island, NY. In addition to veterinary medicine, her passions include reading and writing. Dr. Gavitt is always up for a trip to the beach and a dive in the ocean (weather permitting). She loves to spend time with her daughter, Addison. Dr. Gavitt has one dog, a mixed breed rescue (Siberian Husky, German Shepherd) names Skye.

Dr. Cathy Crum

Dr. Cathy Crum grew up outside Atlanta, GA. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Georgia and moved to North Carolina shortly after graduation. Prior to veterinary school, she worked at both the Veterinary Specialty Hospital and the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital. Dr. Crum earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. Since graduation, Dr. Crum has worked throughout the Triangle area and began working at Armadale Animal Hospital as a relief veterinarian before coming on part time. Dr. Crum lives in Durham with her husband Dave and their fur kids. She has a soft spot for NCSU blood donor cats and all of her cats have been retired blood donors. Dr. Crum enjoys reading crime novels, hiking, spending time outdoors, hot yoga, traveling, and trivia nights with friends. She can be spotted all bundled up in a blanket, stocking hat, and lots of layers at Hurricanes games.

Dr. Clare Bonifant

Dr. Clare Bonifant grew up in West Newton, Massachusetts. She received a BA degree from Harvard, an MBA degree from Dartmouth, and a DVM degree from NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bonifant's family includes husband Ben, two daughters, Ellie and Daisy Grace, three dogs, Gideon, Sadie, and Pepper. When not at work, Dr. Bonifant enjoys outdoor activities with her family, puttering in the garden, minor home improvement projects, and teaching herself to knit. She is a golf and tennis enthusiast and recently donned the mantle of "Soccer Mom" to become the manager of her daughter's soccer team.

Dr. David Walker

Dr. David Walker fulfilled pre-veterinary medical requirements at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma, and received a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. He earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He continues to increase his knowledge of veterinary internal medicine and surgery through reading, seminars and labs. Dr. Walker grew up in Harrison, Ohio, near Cincinnati. He enjoys spending time with friends and family including his wife, Michele Walker, daughter, Madison, and their Silky Terrier, Ally. In his free time he also enjoys running, biking, scuba diving, swimming, golfing, reading, and traveling. Trivia: Dr. Walker has been scuba diving with 28 (and counting) bull sharks in Belize and has dived as deep as 115 feet.

Dr. Sarah McConnell

Dr. Sarah McConnell is from Durham, NC. She received her Bachelors in Animal Science, Masters in Crop Science and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. Prior to obtaining her veterinary degree she worked in several capacities centered on national and international farming, including 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador. Since obtaining her veterinary degree, she has practiced in Fayetteville, Cary and Raleigh. Dr. McConnell has a special interest in small animal dentistry and oral surgery. She has pursued additional continuing education hours in this area and is excited to add her experience to the Armadale Animal Hospital team. (She really loves teeth!)
