Cody Johnson is vice president of Balsiger Insurance and a licensed agent. He came to Reno in 1998 on a football scholarship to the University of Nevada where he played four years with the Wolfpack. In 2003, Cody earned his Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from the University after completing his final season with the Wolfpack. Cody initially worked with Wells Fargo Bank where he found that he truly appreciated the world of risk and financial management. After four years with Wells Fargo and exiting as a branch manager, Cody left to work as a project manager at a local real estate firm having the opportunity to work on projects throughout the West. Having a passion for risk management in the commercial arena, Cody exited real estate development to help others with their risk management, which is what led Cody to insurance. Currently Cody lives in Northwest Reno with his wife and two young children and enjoys sports of all types, camping with friends and family, working in the community, coaching, and teaching people the art of homebrewing. Cody currently serves on the boards of C*A*R*E* Chest of Sierra Nevada and Role Model Summit.
Elena Diaz is an agent with over 20 years of health and life insurance experience. She is a native of California and moved to Las Vegas in 1999 where she furthered her insurance career both as an independent broker and worked with some of the Top 10 national house brokerages. Elena has past experience in holding positions as a Director of Human Resources, Director of Sales and Director of Customer Service. She specializes in offering employee benefits expertise to small, mid-sized and large employer group clientele. Elena administers to both fully-insured and self-funded groups sharing her extensive knowledge of benefit plans, federally-mandated health care regulations and legal changes.
Kathleen Dawson brings over three decades of professional knowledge and experience in property and casualty insurance to her position. Prior to joining Balsiger Insurance, she has served as director of property and casualty divisions, commercial lines manager, quality assurance liaison, marketing manager, and customer service representative for independent agencies as well as national brokerage firms. She has supervised the management, handled, and serviced a wide variety of commercial accounts of all sizes for entities representing most commercial industries, all with various and sometimes unique coverage needs.
Dawson has earned and maintains the Certified Insurance Counselor designation from the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and is a current member. Licensed in Nevada since 1986, and in addition to her CIC designation, she earned her Certificate of General Insurance.
Dawson grew up in Las Vegas but lived for a short time in both California and Arizona before returning to Southern Nevada. She has volunteered for a variety of non-profit organizations throughout the years. She is currently serving as a board member for the local chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation and volunteers for the Torino Foundation.
