BARRIER BREAKERS

As most would know, Barrier Breakers had served the Gippsland community since its foundation in 2006. The association provided free advocacy services to all people who were disadvantaged by their mental illnesses. In later years, from the establishment of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Barrier Breakers also provided service provision to NDIS recipients. Most regrettably, the association's growth was not matched by its income and as public subscriptions dwindled and government grants failed to materialise, the association's Directors could not afford to continue to top-up its funding requirements and the only alternative was to wind the association up.
