As an artist and costume technician, I have a passion to learn new techniques and incorporate creative and diverse construction methods into my work. My primary task as a costume technician in the design process is to transform a costume designer's two-dimensional costume rendering into a three-dimensional moving reality. Creative problem solving, flexibility and clear communication are essential to my work. When beginning a project, I determine the architectural structure of the costume, the proportion in relation to the performer and the materials needed to create the desired effect. I approach every project with an open mind and an attention to detail to produce high quality, custom-made and carefully fit original pieces.
