The Klapman family was led into the electrical supply business in the early 1900's by Morris Weinstein. Morris was the owner of Capitol Electric Supply until his passing on when Bert Klapman took over the company. Bert's sons and current owners, Michael and Jon Klapman, took interest in the company right away. They worked there from their early teens until Bert's retirement in 1982. Michael and John took their years of knowledge and ventured out on their own and started Morris Electrical Supply Company. After years of competing with the rapidly changing electrical industry and the passing of their father, Michael and Jon decided to downsize the business in 1996 into what you have today, Bert's Electrical Supply Company.
