Carla grew up in Highmore, SD. She graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1976. Carla has over 30 years of hospital nursing experience including CCU, home care and parish nursing. In 1991, Carla developed the home infusion nursing services for Complete Home Care Pharmacy. Carla continues to enjoy practicing community and parish nursing services for her patients.

Yee-Lai is the founder of Complete Home Care, Inc. and CareTrends Pharmacy. He graduated from South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He completed the first Accredited Pharmacy Residency program at Avera McKennan Hospital in 1978. He continued working for Avera McKennan Hospital for the next 15 years. During that time he established and implemented surgery satellite pharmacy services and decentralized clinical pharmacy services. In 1991, he established Complete Home Care, Inc. as the first independent home infusion pharmacy in South Dakota. Yee-Lai was the recipient of the First Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award (1993) from the South Dakota Pharmaceutical Association. In 1996, Yee-Lai established the Hospital Pharmacy department at the Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital. Since its opening, Complete Home Care's pharmacy staff have been providing comprehensive hospital pharmaceutical services for the Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital. In 2011, Yee-Lai and his son Thomas opened their second CareTrends Specialty Pharmacy in Sioux Falls. Yee-Lai and his wife, Carla, have three children: Thomas Chiu (Pharm.D), James Chiu (MD), and Katherine Chiu Perry (Pharm.D, BCPS).
