Bailee Gilchrist

Leisurely, Dr. Gilchrist is a workout enthusiast and commits to a daily regimen of exercise. She enjoys playing tennis and bike riding. She treasures time spent with her husband Willie, and daughter, Weslee.

Dr. Lisa Biswas

Dr. Lisa Biswas joined Carolina Asthma & Allergy after completing her Allergy/Immunology Fellowship. She treats both adults and children in our Mooresville, Huntersville, and Cornelius locations. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Biswas graduated with her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine followed by residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Virginia. She pursued Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee due to her particular interest in tackling social determinants of health and was involved in multiple clinical research studies in food allergy and asthma. Dr. Biswas is dedicated to improving patient education to help ensure the highest quality of care for all patients. She enjoys unraveling complex interactions between the immune system and their environment to pinpoint the root causes of patients' symptoms. Being able to provide relief to patients suffering from allergies, asthma, and immune-related disorders with an innovative and personalized treatment approach is an aspect of her career that she finds deeply rewarding. She stays up to date on medical advances in the field of allergy by being an active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, trying new restaurants in Charlotte, and spending time with family and friends.

Emily W. Langley

Dr. Langley joined Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center in 2013. She is a native Charlottean and graduate of Myers Park High School, where she completed the International Baccalaureate Program and was active in clubs and sports. She then headed to Winston-Salem, where she graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University with a BS in biology. She earned her status as a "Double Deacon" when she stayed on for medical school at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She completed Pediatrics Residency at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University, followed by Allergy/Immunology Fellowship, also in Nashville, Tennessee.

J. Gray Norris

Dr. Norris provides care for patients of all ages and has had the honor of caring for multiple generations of families during his many years of practice. Dr. Norris served as President of Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center from 2011-2021. During Dr. Norris's tenure as president, Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center grew from 8 locations to 15 & from 10 providers to 24. When not at work, Dr. Norris enjoys traveling with his wife & three children and supporting his team, the Georgia Bulldogs.

Jennifer L. Caicedo

Dr. Caicedo has been actively involved in both the local and national medical communities. She is the Past President of the Charlotte Pediatric Society and still serves on the organization's Board. She is also a Past President of the North Carolina Allergy Asthma & Immunology Society. In February of 2015, Dr. Caicedo was appointed by The American Academy of Pediatrics and The Allergy & Asthma Network as North Carolina's sole Medical Home Champion for Allergy Asthma & Anaphylaxis. She speaks throughout the local and state medical communities on allergy and asthma related topics and is often asked to write opinion editorials and give interviews for her local Charlotte community. Dr. Caicedo has been involved in multiple clinical research studies in food allergy, atopic dermatitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, and asthma. She has also been involved in multiple national quality improvement studies. She is a member of the Carolinas Eosinophilic Esophagitis Collaborative. She believes strongly in advocacy and was proud to assist in the efforts to obtain funding for one registered nurse for every local public Charlotte Mecklenburg School (CMS) as well as implementing stock epinephrine throughout CMS. Dr. Caicedo has been asked to speak throughout the state of North Carolina and on National radio broadcasts on the topic of the health effects of climate change. Dr. Caicedo has been married to her husband, Rick for 19 years. They have two children, ages 10 and 13. Dr. Caicedo believes in the philosophy of challenging herself everyday. In her free time, Dr. Caicedo enjoys photography, hiking and the outdoors as well as reading and fitness.

Kena Shah

Dr. Shah is a board certified physician specializing in Adult & Pediatric allergy & immunology. She is a local to Charlotte, and completed her undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in pre-medical studies from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While she was getting her undergraduate degree, she was commended to the Dean's list and graduated with honors. She was also recognized in the Beta Beta Beta, a National Biological Honors Society. While in medical school, she was recognized as a member of Sigma Sigma Phi, an Honorary Fraternity. She then did her Internal Medicine Residency at Jefferson Health System of NJ and Allergy & Immunology fellowship from Nova Southeastern University in Miami, Florida. She then practiced in New York for 6 years after which she decided to move back to Charlotte to be close to her family. Dr. Shah has been involved in research since her undergraduate days and is very well published. She has authored and co-authored multiple journal articles. Dr. Shah is also a corresponding author of the 4 th, 5 th, and 6 th editions of the Allergy & Immunology board-review book which is read by all physicians certifying and re-certifying for the Allergy & immunology boards. In her free time she loves listening to music, singing, exercising, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Richard C. Herring

Dr. Herring has been with Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center since 2012. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in biology. After 2 years of research at UNC Cystic Fibrosis Center, he decided to go to medical school. Dr. Herring went to East Carolina University for medical school and after finished a combined 4-year residency program in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics, caring for both adults and children. He then completed an adult and pediatric specialty fellowship program in Allergy & Immunology at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Herring is board certified in both Allergy & Immunology and Internal Medicine.

Richard P. Silton

Dr. Richard Silton was an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following college he earned his medical degree at the Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. Dr. Silton was an intern and resident in Internal medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, New York. He then fulfilled a National Health Corp scholarship by working three years in a physician shortage area. Dr. Silton then completed a two year fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of South Florida and affiliated hospitals in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Silton, his wife Debbie and their two young children moved to Charlotte in 1994. Dr. Silton was the allergist for Kaiser Permanente until joining the Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center in January of 1997. Dr. Silton is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He is a member of the Mecklenburg Medical Society. The practice of Allergy and Immunology has been his professional passion since 1988. He considers the treatment of children, teens and adults a true privilege. The education of medical students and medical residents has been very important to Dr. Silton. Residents and PA students have participated in electives at the offices of CAAC. Dr. Silton has participated in lectures for medical residents and also in lectures and talks for the lay public. Richard and Debbie Silton delighted in raising their children in Charlotte. Their daughter, Rachel and her husband, Seth live in Texas. Rachel is a middle school teacher and Seth works in information technology. Dr. and Mrs. Silton are proud grandparents of their first grandchild, Libby. Their son, Matthew lives in Utah and works in management for a technology company. Dr. Silton and his wife enjoy travel, concerts, and theater. They always have fun visiting their family. Dr. Silton loves music. He plays clarinet, guitar and drums. Dr. and Mrs. Silton are enjoying their new roles as proud grandparents. They look forward to watching their granddaughter grow, to loving her a lot and spoiling her just a little.

S. Nicole Chadha

Dr. Nicole Chadha received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Kansas, then returned to her southern roots in Georgia to pursue her career in medicine. She graduated with her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. She subsequently completed her pediatric residency at Palmetto Health Richland Children's Hospital associated with the University of South Carolina and fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at Vanderbilt University. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Chadha remained on faculty at Vanderbilt as an Assistant Professor within the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonary Medicine. Dr. Chadha is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and Immunology. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and the American College of Asthma Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Chadha chose to specialize in Allergy in particular because she enjoys studying the intricacies of the immune system and likes that the specialty allows her to treat both children and adults. The chronic nature of allergic disease affords her the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her patients. She finds great reward in providing care and education that results in an improved quality of life for her patients. Dr. Chadha has many interests in a variety of allergic and immunologic conditions, including food allergy, asthma, urticaria, allergic rhinitis, primary immunodeficiency and eosinophilic esophagitis. She has contributed to research on eosinophilic esophagitis in children and has presented her work both locally and nationally. Dr. Chadha lives in Charlotte with her husband, Ashley, a pediatric pulmonologist, 2 young sons, and 2 dogs. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, interior design, volunteering and taking part in community events.
