Amelia C. Roberts

Amelia Roberts represented the families of the victims in cases involving the two largest settlements paid by the city of Chattanooga for civil rights violations. Lisa Conner has obtained multiple favorable verdicts for her clients in state trial and appellate courts. Both of our experienced attorneys have obtained favorable verdicts for their clients in the Tennessee Supreme Court. Amelia Roberts is a native of Chattanooga. She attended Hixson High School and then obtained her B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1999, where she attended as a Chapin-Thomas Scholar. Amelia has litigated thousands of bankruptcy cases along with numerous family law, personal injury, and civil rights matters, and focuses her practice in these areas. She frequently represents debtors in consumer bankruptcy, divorce, and child support cases. She has also served as a special judge in the Hamilton County General Sessions Court. As an attorney, Amelia represented the families in two cases that involved the largest settlements paid by the City of Chattanooga at the time for civil rights violations. She is also a successful appellate attorney, winning an important victory for injury victims in the Tennessee Supreme Court in a case against Wal-Mart. Ms. Roberts has a commitment to justice for the citizens of the Tennessee Valley and has a reputation for ethical and aggressive representation.

Caleb Chastain

Caleb Chastain was born and raised in Cleveland, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with his Bachelor's degree and then graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with his Juris Doctor (J.D.). Upon graduation from law school, Caleb worked for the State of Tennessee's Child Support Services as a child support enforcement attorney for the 10 th District of Tennessee. This gave Caleb extensive experience practicing in front of circuit, chancery, and juvenile courts.

Leah E. Smith

Leah Smith grew up over the state line in Calhoun, Georgia. She graduated with high honors both from Maryville College with a B.A. in political science and the University of Tennessee College of Law with her Juris Doctor (J.D.). Leah's practice focuses on family law in which she assists individuals and families going through emotional and volatile situations navigate the legal system. Her cases consist primarily of uncontested and contested divorces, post-divorce modifications and enforcement, custody modifications, paternity actions, and child support cases. Leah became an attorney to find ways to help people in her community. As an Associate Attorney at Conner & Roberts, Leah strives to advocate for her clients' needs to help them come out the other side of the conflict in the best position possible.

Lisa Conner

Attorney Lisa Conner co-founded Conner & Roberts, PLLC in September 2010 and is the firm's managing member. She was born in Chattanooga, and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before receiving her Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from Florida Coastal School of Law. Upon graduation from law school, Lisa returned home to practice law in her native Tennessee. Her first job as a lawyer was at a large, multi-state defense firm where she was a managing attorney. She started to see how big firms did not serve the needs of local individuals, so she decided to work with Attorney Amelia Roberts to do just that, opening Conner & Roberts, PLLC in 2010. Ms. Conner focuses her practice on family law, where she has represented numerous clients and helped them navigate the court system. She also represents clients in work-related injuries, workers' compensation insurance defense, and personal injury, obtaining numerous favorable verdicts for her clients. As a successful appellate attorney, Lisa won a significant victory in the Tennessee Supreme Court with a leading case on workers' compensation injuries. She has served as a special judge for the Hamilton County General Sessions Court. She has litigated numerous cases in district and appellate courts.
