Bernice has more than 25 years' experience in the insurance industry. She began her insurance career as a part time Customer Service Representative in 1992. She took and passed her Property & Casualty Exam in 1995 to become a licensed agent. Bernice has worked with David Townsend since 1992.
Bernice has spent quite a bit of time giving back to the local communities. She was instrumental in establishing programs that worked with students at several local high schools. These programs were designed to promote a message of good decision making for young drivers.
Over the years, Bernice has developed quite a following at the agency in both personal and commercial lines of coverage. She is the primary commercial agent within the office.
Bernice resides in Castle Shannon with her husband, Cal. She is the proud mom to two adult children, Calvin and Brittany. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and dog, Bella.

Courtney joined the DL Townsend Insurance Agency in 2017. However, she was not new to insurance when she joined the agency. She had more than a decade of experience in the industry prior to coming on board and is licensed to sell Property & Casualty and Life insurance.
Courtney is a 1997 graduate of Ringgold High School and has a B.A. in Political Communications from Seton Hill College. Over the years, Courtney has been a member and volunteer of many boards and committees. But now mostly spends her free time being a mom to her young son, Marty.
Courtney currently lives in South Park along with her husband, Bryan and Marty (AND rescue dog, Brick). Like any lifelong Pittsburgh girl, she is an avid sports fan of the Steelers, Penguins and the Pirates. On any given Sunday she can be found watching the game with her friends and family.

David L. Townsend is the owner and principal agent of the D.L. Townsend Insurance Agency. David began his insurance career more than 25 years ago when he began working for the Godleski Insurance Agency in 1993. David worked for GIA for 15 years before purchasing the agency in 2008.
In addition to providing service for his clients, David has also spent his time working to represent his fellow insurance agents. David has served terms representing his peers as Coffee House Proprietor, Agent's Advisory Council and as a Task Force Representative. In these roles, David served as a liaison between agents and corporate management of Erie Insurance with goals to improve upon agency / company relations, product development and technology advancement.
David and his wife, Patty, reside in Peters Township, PA, not far from his office. In his free time, David enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.
