This is a problem for Canada, as well for many developed and developing countries around the world. If you do not process the electronic waste properly it can cause significant health and pollution problems... Electronic scrap components, such as CRTs, have dangerous contaminants such as lead, cadnium, beryllium, mercury and flame retardents. Such harmful chemicals and compounds can also leak into the ground and water so care must be taken when recycling e-waste.
