The scope and breadth of his wealth management experience began in 1981 as a Personal Trust Officer at New England Merchants National Bank in Boston, MA. During his tenure there, he earned both the Chartered Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and CLU designations. In 1983, he was recruited by State Street Bank & Trust Company as a Vice President to promote trust and investment management services throughout Northern New England. John was presented the Chairman's award for his distinguished service and was given the opportunity to establish and manage State Street Bank and Trust Company of NH in 1990. In 1993, John returned to Boston to assume management of State Street's Charitable Trust Division, the nation's largest provider of investment and administrative services to charitable giving programs, endowments and foundations of major national non-profits. With a staff of 38 employees and a multi-million budget, John assumed responsibility for over $900 million in assets under management and reported directly to the President. In 1999, John was invited to join Arthur Andersen, LLP to establish its Boston-based investment consulting practice. John then managed the regional practice for Andersen's successor, Wealth and Tax Advisory Services, in Boston. In January 2006, John joined Ron to establish R&A Capital Management, LLC. Its mission was to further advance the full suite of family office services to families of distinctive wealth; a vision both of them had embraced over their respective careers. Shortly thereafter they decided to change the name to the Eideard Group, LLC, "Guardians of Prosperity" to more accurately reflect the company's mission. Today, they remain devoted to that singular vision. John received his BA, Magna Cum Laude, in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire in 1972. He did additional graduate work in Babson College's MBA program. He also attended Northwestern University's National Graduate Trust School in Evanston, Ill. John's military service dates back to 1972 when he joined the US Army National Guard. Following thirty years of combined service, John retired in 2002 as a Colonel and Field Artillery Brigade Commander. His military education included graduation from numerous military career schools. John and his wife, Linda, reside in Bedford, NH. He is an avid golfer, tennis player, skier, sailor and guitarist. He is also a very proud and active grandparent.
