Born and raised in Virginia Beach, attorney Barnes graduated from the College of William and Mary. She obtained her juris doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, in Las Vegas. Immediately after law school, she returned to her home town of Virginia Beach and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar. She has practiced in the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads area continuously since that time. Ms. Barnes has a philosophy of being both accessible and flexible for her clients' needs.
As part of her commitment to helping others, attorney Barnes also serves as a court appointed guardian ad litem, representing children during divorce, child custody, and abuse and neglect cases involving the Department of Social Services and Child Protective Services.
