EXCELLENCE IN DENTISTRY - Key Persons

Dr. Edwin Batchelor brings a wealth of experience with him and has proudly been serving the Madison and Cottage Grove locations since 1997. He began his college education at the United States Air Force Academy and completed his B.S. in biology at Southeast Missouri State University. Dr. Batchelor attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry where he received his doctorate of dental surgery (DDS) in 1986, after which he served as a dental officer in the U.S. Naval Dental Corps. He later attended a residency in periodontics at the National Naval Dental Center at Bethesda, Maryland. There, he served patients from the armed services, members of the U.S. Cabinet, and Congress. Dr. Batchelor is certified in oral conscious sedation and provides comprehensive care for those who are unable to tolerate dental procedures with simple local anesthesia. Dr. Batchelor has lived in Madison since 1997 and is a member of the board of directors for the Wisconsin Academy of General Dentistry and is a Fellow of the American Dental Implant Association. He practices at both Madison and Cottage Grove offices and is a Delta Dental premiere provider.

Dr. Eilis Purath is a native of Racine, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities at the University of Minnesota, where she studied Biology. She then enrolled and completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Creighton University, School of Dentistry, in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Purath graduated at the top of her Dental Class with honors. Dr. Purath is joining our Excellence In Dentistry - Madison team, July of 2023, and primary focus is to treat every patient comprehensively. She works to develop relationships with her patients that allow her to meet her patient's treatment goals in a team environment. Dr. Purath is excited to make dental care easy for her patients and overcome their concerns and intimidation factors. In her free time, Dr. Purath enjoys cooking and baking. Dr. Purath is excited to be back in Wisconsin, but also enjoys trips with family to Florida as often as possible, as she is a avid Disney fan.

Dr. Jeremie Sauve was born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Canada and moved to the United States when he was nine years old. He lived in Paris, Texas until he was fourteen years old, and then moved to Appleton, WI where his family currently lives. Dr. Sauve attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology. Dr. Sauve then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he was on the Dean's list for three years. He received a Merit Scholarship and graduated with his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) in 2018. Dr. Sauve is available to treat you, at both the Madison and Cottage grove Excellence in Dentistry locations. Dr. Sauve is very excited to be back in Madison, close to family and friends. Dr. Sauve enjoys staying active by lifting weights, playing squash, and hiking.

Mai Cheng joined our Excellence In Dentistry offices in 2019 with over 3 years of previous dental experience as a Dental Assistant. Mai Cheng is assisting part time at both the Madison and Cottage Grove offices assisting both Dr. Batchelor and Dr. Sauvé. Mai Cheng is currently enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program with Madison College and plans to follow her passion to help others as a Dental Hygienist. You will surely enjoy Mai Cheng's sweet and friendly personality at your next treatment appointment. Outside of the office, Mai Cheng enjoys Cooking, Baking and Eating of all kinds! Mai Cheng and her husband enjoys spending time together with their two daughters.
