Etex Communications, L.P., was established in 1989 as a subsidiary of the Etex Telephone Cooperative, which was founded in 1952. The cooperative was created to address the communications needs of rural Northeast Texas, where other companies chose not to serve. With funding from the REA (Rural Electrification Administration), a group of industrious individuals launched this initiative to provide reliable communication services to underserved areas...
