Laurie has served as a member of the Section Council of the Maryland State Bar Association's Family & Juvenile Law Section. She has been the Chair of both the Baltimore County Bar Association's Family Law Committee and the Bar Association of Baltimore City's Family Law Committee. Laurie is also regularly recognized by her colleagues as a Top Family Lawyer in Super Lawyers, including making the list of Top 100 Lawyers in Maryland (2021 - 2023) and Top 50 Women Lawyers in Maryland
In September 2022, Laurie was featured in The Daily Record Maryland Family Law Update in the article Civil contempt ruling continues to baffle Md. family law attorneys.
In December 2016, Laurie was featured on the cover of the Daily Record Maryland Family Law Update and in the article on holiday visitation schedules, Lawyers Emphasize Making New Traditions for the Holidays after Separation.
Ms. White has been a prominent figure in the Baltimore County Bar Association, where she chairs the Family Law Committee. Since 2018, she has also served as an Attorney Liaison for the Family Law Division of the Baltimore County Circuit Court. Furthermore, she is an active participant in the Maryland State Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Foundation, the Serjeants' Inn Law Club, the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service and the Baltimore County Sitting Judges campaigns.

Tom Ries joined Wasserman Family Law as Counsel after 28 years of practicing at the preeminent Towson family law firm, Kaufman, Ries & Elgin.
Tom is widely recognized as a leader in Family Law. His accomplishments include being a Past President of the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), to which Susan and Laurie are Fellows. He served on the National Board of Governors of the AAML from 2008 - 2010, and was Co-Chair of the AAML Institute for Family Law Associates national training program from 2006 - 2018. Tom is also a Certified Family Law Arbitrator by American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Beginning in 2008, Tom became a co-author of Fader's Maryland Family Law, the leading publication concerning family law issues in Maryland. He has been included in Best Lawyers in America (copyright by Woodward/White, Inc.) for both "Family Law" and "Family Law Mediation".
Tom has written and lectured on many different family law topics at the national, state and local levels. Tom was honored in 2020 with the Maryland State Bar Association Family & Juvenile Law Section's prestigious Beverly Ann Groner Award which is given annually in recognition of a lawyer's dedication to the practice of family law and who has exemplified the highest professional standards during a distinguished career.
Tom has been an Appointed Member of the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland Peer Review Committee since 2015. He has also been selected to Maryland Super Lawyers as a Top Family Law Attorney every year since 2007, including Top 10, Top 50 and Top 100 recognition.
Tom resides in Baltimore and enjoys spending time with family (including the family dogs), playing tennis, traveling, and supporting The John Fetting Fund for Breast Cancer Prevention at Johns Hopkins.
