Founded in Lexington, Kentucky in 1988, Griswold Self Defense teaches self defense because Evil never takes a vacation. We believe the best training is found in a comprehensive, complete system that offers instruction in all aspects of true self defense... We offer instruction in Kiyojute Ryu Kempo, for those who want more vigorous, but safe, training, Tsung Shih Tai Chi Chuan for those who want a gentler approach and God's Fist for those desiring a basic short course in personal self defense. Many local students study both Kempo and Tai Chi Chuan because they are complimentary arts and reinforce each other. Even though serious assaults require appropriate measures, we emphasize the use of the minimum physical force necessary to ensure personal safety. Individuals of all shapes and sizes can train with us.
