Connie Tannahill

Looking for a career change from culinary arts, Connie began her career with Herbins in 2023! She is excited to pursue her passion for gemology and fine jewellery at Herbins while studying at the Canadian Institute of Gemology to further her knowledge and expertise in the field. She also hopes to learn about jewellery repair and custom jewellery design in the process. Connie is excited to work for a small local family business and greets every customer with her friendly smile. She loves helping customers find meaningful pieces of jewellery to celebrate their momentous occasions. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her young family, gardening, and travelling the world!

Genna Graves

Job Titles:

Genna joined the Herbins team as a Sales Consultant in 2023! She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Acadia University. Genna discovered her love for fine jewellery at an early age, and thankfully, this affection has only deepened since starting her career at Herbins. She loves working one-on-one with clients to help them find their ideal pieces, whether for themselves or as meaningful gifts. Genna also enjoys working with local business partners to expand our #GetEngagedintheValley Campaign, introducing clients to exclusive perks and once-in-a-lifetime wedding ideas. Looking forward, she would like to pursue her certification with the Gemological Institute of America, hoping to become an accredited member of the team!

John Herbin

Leading the family business into its fifth generation is John Herbin. John attended Mount Allison University, where he completed his BA degree in 2013. Since then, he has worked in the local wine industry, even spending a year in Switzerland to learn more about the industry. Upon his return in 2016, he became interested in his family's small business, which led to his career at Herbin Jewellers. He completed courses from NSCAD in jewellery making/repair, and training to become certified as an Accredited Jewellery Professional from the Gemological Institute of America. In his spare time, John volunteers coaching Rugby at Horton High School. He also enjoys travelling and spending time at the cottage!

Karen Corkum

Job Titles:
  • Business Manager
Karen has been part of the Herbin Jewellers team since 2013! With an extensive background in Business Administration and a Degree from Acadia University, she demonstrates her expertise in managing the Herbins' accounts, ensuring everything runs efficiently behind the scenes. Karen's kindness and compassion for others is something she brings to work with her every day. Karen also contributes to the sales floor as a Sales Consultant, welcoming everyone with her warm smile. When working on the sales floor she enjoys helping clients find gifts for loved ones.

Kelsey Cornelius

Kelsey joined the Herbins' team as a Sales Consultant in 2014 after completing a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Acadia University. Discovering her passion for jewellery, she completed training to become certified as an Accredited Jewellery Professional from the Gemological Institute of America and developed an interest in custom jewellery design. She enjoys working one-on-one with clients, encouraging them to explore their creativity in jewellery redesign, and helping them select the perfect piece!

Peter J. Herbin

Job Titles:
  • Owner
Peter is the fourth-generation owner of Herbin Jewellers! He began working at the store in 1972 and brings his vast experience in custom design, repair, and appraisal to help clients with their jewellery needs. He completed studies in watchmaking at George Brown College in Toronto and then studied watchmaking on scholarship for a year in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Peter picked up much of his jewellery repair knowledge from his father and continued his training in diamond grading, jewellery repair, gemology, and custom jewellery in various courses and seminars. Peter is passionate about contributing to his community. He was an active volunteer for the Town of Wolfville on various committees, serving on the Wolfville Business Development Corporation and other local and national organizations. Most recently, he served as Co-chair of Nomination Grand Pre, in their quest to designate the Landscape of Grand Pre a UNESCO world heritage site. Peter is now semi-retired, enjoying hiking and biking along the Valley's many trails, and playing with his grandchildren in his spare time!
