HOWITT PARIS EYECARE - Key Persons
A graduate of the Central University of Venezuela School of Medicine, Dr. Paris graduated summa cum laude. He was awarded the Fundayacucho National Excellence Scholarship for his academic performance. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Venezuelan Premier Ophthalmology training program, Hospital "J. A. Risquez". He then completed a two year Fellowship in Glaucoma at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he was awarded the Gillingham Fellowship and a Whitehead Fellowship Award. To meet the American Board of Ophthalmology requirements, he went on to complete a second internship and ophthalmology residency program, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Following his residency training he remained as faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio before moving to South Florida to enter private practice.
Dr. Paris has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and has lectured at multiple international meetings about Glaucoma. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology. Dr Paris is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.
