As a registered Architect in British Columbia with past registration in the UK, Jim's professional experience is comprised of over 25 years working individually and in collaborative environments with respected architecture and design offices in London and Vancouver. Experience in design encompasses a diversity of project types: included in new construction and renovations are academic and health care facilities, performing arts venues, retail and office developments, corporate offices, multiple and single family residences, heritage restoration, landscape and urban master plans. Amongst the clients served are blue chip corporations, government agencies, institutions, small business owners and private individuals. Many of these projects have been featured in media, nominated for or won industry awards. As a sole practitioner Jim has concentrated on small commercial renovations and single family residential projects. The depth of his experience is broadened by hands-on construction contracting, construction administration, and a special interest in ‘green' design. In the community Jim has volunteered extensively in youth sport, education, and the establishment of the award winning AIBC Architects in School Program. He currently volunteers with the District of North Vancouver Community Heritage Commission and Board of Variance, and has also served as chairmain of the Advisory Design Panel.
