He started competing at age six and two years later he started training with Pammy Hutton of Talland School of Equitation, who had spotted his talent from a young age. He trained at Talland and received his BHS AI certificate at age 17. He then went on to become one of the youngest British Showjumping approved (UKCC) coaches in the UK... Johnathan has continued to balance his ambition as a showjumper with his passion for helping others to achieve their goals. He has trained with some of the best trainers in the country, including Tim Stockdale, Dermot Lennon, Dick Stillwell, Gerry Sinnott and Rowland Fernyhough. His calm, pragmatic approach to teaching has made him very much in demand, for Pony and Riding Club groups, all the way to international-level showjumpers.
