Mr. Taylor is an intellectual property attorney with thirty (30) years of experience in private practice representing a diverse range of clients in patent and trademark matters. David is admitted to practice before the Maryland and District of Columbia bars, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and has been registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office since 1994. Mr. Taylor's practice focuses primarily on patent and trademark litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, and client counseling. His skills and accomplishments include: drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the United States and abroad; filing and prosecuting trademark applications and maintaining trademark registrations; arguing appeals; ex parte reexamination practice; providing opinions relating to patent infringement, validity, patentability, licensing, and related patent issues; conducting patentability and registrability searches; engaging in trademark cancellation and opposition practice; assisting a United States District Court Special Master in conducting Markman hearings, including preparing claim construction reports and briefing decisions relating to discovery disputes and pre-trial motions; preparing and responding to pleadings, motions, Markman briefings, and written discovery; conducting depositions; overseeing experts and expert report preparation; and briefing appeals to U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Among the technological areas Mr. Taylor has litigated and/or prosecuted are vehicle transmissions, building industry products, LED light strings, medical devices, semiconductor devices, Internet-driven solutions, nano-technology, nutritional supplements, polymers, rocket propulsion systems, explosives, agricultural equipment, optical fiber production, compact discs, and electrochemical devices and processes. Mr. Taylor obtained his J.D. from the George Washington National Law Center in Washington, D.C. in 1993, and his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1990.
