The Medin Brothers started the Furniture and Undertaking business in Dell Rapids in the late 1800's. They sold it to their brother-in-law, H. J. Hermanson in 1906. He ran it until 1919 when poor health forced his retirement. In 1919 his son, John returned home from W.W.I and took over the Hermanson Furniture Store and Funeral Home.
