KBCA - Key Persons
Brenda is a Senior Accountant who joined KBCA in 2018. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, Brenda and her husband moved to the Carson City area in 2008 to be closer to family. Brenda graduated from Heald Business College in San Jose, California with an AAS degree in Accounting and has over 25 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. Her experience ranges from development and construction industries, working at a private golf course, and working at a Fortune 500 company as a Financial Analyst. Brenda also enjoys walking in the great outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Darcy is a manager who joined us in early 2016. Darcy, along with her husband and two young children, moved to Carson City in 2014 to be closer to family. Darcy graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor's degree in Managerial Economics in 2002 and has over 15 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. Darcy is a Quickbooks Certified Pro Advisor.
Dominic is an owner of KBCA, LLC. Dominic earned his Bachelor's degree in accounting and his Master's degree in Accountancy, with an emphasis in taxation, from the University of Nevada. Dominic began his career as an intern with KBCA and has enjoyed being a part of the KBCA team helping individuals and businesses with all of their tax planning and accounting needs for over 16 years. Dominic is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Nevada, where he was born and raised. Dominic is also a member of the American Institute of CPA's and Nevada Society of CPA's. In his free time, Dominic enjoys traveling with his wife, son and daughter, as well as, spending time with their three dogs enjoying Northern Nevada's outdoors.
Izzy is a senior accountant who joined KBCA in 2021. She was born and raised in Reno, NV and graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNR with a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting. Izzy has 3 years of public accounting experience in bookkeeping, tax, and audit. Izzy is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Nevada Society of CPA's. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, being outside, and cooking.
Jeff is a manager that joined KBCA in 2021. He is 5th generation Nevadan, born and raised in northern Nevada. Jeff earned his Bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1998. After a five-year career in the insurance industry, he returned to UNR for accounting in 2003. After 17 years of assisting individuals and businesses with their general tax planning and accounting needs, he particularly enjoys focusing on the taxation and accounting services of construction and development. Jeff is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Nevada Society of CPA's. In his free time Jeff enjoys outdoor sports, hiking, golf and spending time with his wife, daughter, and pets.
Matthew is a manager who joined KBCA in 2022. Matthew was born in Northern California and moved to Reno when he was a sophomore in high school where he attended Reno High School. Matthew earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and his master's degree in accountancy from the University of Nevada, Reno. Matthew is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Nevada. Matthew is also a member of the Nevada Society of CPA's. In his free time, Matthew enjoys traveling, attending music festivals and concerts, camping in the mountains, and playing disc golf.
Nicole was born and raised in Carson City, NV. Shortly after graduating high school Nicole applied for a position at KBCA as a receptionist! She was quick and eager to learn and grow with the company. She is now our company controller and bookkeeping manager. She is a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and as a member of the NACQA obtained her bookkeeping certification and her CPB license. In her free time she stays very busy with her 3 boys, husband and their blood hounds - three of them! She is a committee member for a local Boy Scout Troop and volunteers with the local baseball and football organizations. She likes to hunt, fish and camp with her family among many other things.
Scott is an owner of KBCA, LLC. Scott moved to Reno in 1999 to attend the University of Nevada and loved the area so much, he never left. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in accounting in 2003, Scott began his career in accounting and has gained extensive experience in private industry and public accounting. Scott enjoys working with individuals and companies of all sizes and complexity in a variety of industries. Scott is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Nevada and a member of the American Institute of CPA's and Nevada Society of CPA's. In his free time Scott enjoys spending time in the yard with his wife and dog, rooting for the Chicago Bears and Nevada Wolf Pack, and traveling.
Trevor is our newest owner as of January 1, 2020. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trevor came up to Reno to attend college and fell in love with the area. Trevor earned his Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Nevada, Reno while also being part of Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting honors organization. Trevor enjoys the challenge and variety that public accounting offers, and loves working with all different types of clients. Trevor is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Nevada, Certified Fraud Examiner, as well as a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Nevada Society of CPA's. Trevor was a graduate of the Leadership Reno Sparks program in 2015, and also serves on the board for the College of Business Alumni Association for the University of Nevada, Reno. In his free time, Trevor enjoys fly fishing and playing tennis.
