COLLEEN LIBBEY

Colleen Libbey grew up in Ketchikan, Alaska. She attended the University of Idaho and Wayland Baptist University. Before heading to law school she married her now law partner, Dan Libbey. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law, where she graduated With Honors and served as Editor in Chief of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. Following law school, Colleen clerked for the Anchorage Superior Court and later worked at a local law firm practicing insurance defense. During her initial time in private practice, she realized she wanted to transition from insurance defense to personal injury claimant work so she could help those being wronged by the abusive practices of the insurance industry. To accomplish her goal of helping those disadvantaged, she joined Libbey Law Offices, LLC. Colleen's practice is focused on serving personal injury clients, and she is dedicated to educating herself and others regarding the ever-changing legal landscape of personal injury practice. For many years she has been an active participant in the Alaska Association for Justice (formerly the Alaska Trial Lawyers) and served as its Education Committee Chair and Vice President from 2016-2018. She served as the President of the Alaska Association for Justice from 2018-2020 and currently serves as a Board Member. Colleen has served as adjunct faculty at Wayland Baptist University teaching various legal courses and is currently a member of the Alaska Civil Rules Committee. She is a graduate of the esteemed Trial Lawyers College. When she is not enjoying practicing law, Colleen enjoys yoga, skiing, reading, and otherwise spending time with her family. She also enjoys participating in fitness fundraising activities with her husband and children. Colleen is licensed to practice in Alaska and Washington. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of Alaska, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

DANIEL LIBBEY

Dan Libbey is a life-long Alaskan. Dan prepared for a life of service, initially receiving his undergraduate degree in psychology, and later obtaining a Master's Degree in Community Service Administration. He graduated With Honors and Order of the Coif from The Ohio State University College of Law. After law school he knew he wanted to return to his home state of Alaska, where he could enjoy the friendly people and great outdoors. He served as a law clerk in the Anchorage Superior Court and later started his own law firm, Law Offices of Daniel E. Libbey, which then became Libbey Law Offices, LLC. Dan is dedicated to advocating for injured Alaskans. Dan is active in the Alaska Trial Lawyers (formerly the Alaska Association of Justice and the Alaska Academy of Trial Lawyers), an organization dedicated to helping injury victims, where he previously served as an officer. Dan is also a graduate of the well-known Trial Lawyers College 3-Week program. He is the proud father of two girls. He is an avid skier and outdoorsman who enjoys spending time with his wife Colleen (his law partner) and daughters. Dan also enjoys participating in athletic fundraising activities, such as the Ride for Life, the Tour de Cure, and other events. Dan is licensed to practice in Alaska and Washington.
