Damon Nielsen

Damon has been in a permanent part time role with Lefroy Valley since August 2013. Damon ensures the smooth running of the warehouse and dispatch of goods. Damon is integrating more fieldwork into his role and will eventually be a fulltime Technical Sales Representative in the Auckland region. Damon comes from a Dairy farm originally and has spent time working in the horticultural industry in the UK before coming to Lefroy Valley. Damon is based in Pukekohe and is sales representative for Auckland, Canterbury, Otago/Southland.

Glennys Smith

Job Titles:
  • Administrator and Logistics Co - Ordinator
Glennys has been with us since August 2008. Previously employed in the Onion Export industry, her skills are in the field of export documentation, logistics and customer service. With over 30 years of experience in administration, both in corporate and sole charge positions. Being a local, Glennys has spent all her life in the Franklin District. Glennys enjoys being part of the Lefroy Valley team and is at reception to serve customers both calling and visiting our warehouse in Pukekohe.

Janine Grul

Janine has been with Lefroy Valley NZ for over 10 years, returning in February 2000 after time overseas. Janine has been part of Lefroy Valley's Administration team and a Technical Sales Rep since February 2000. Janine brings a mix of skills including IT systems, financial and sales. Janine's focus is indoor crops, tomato, cucumber, lettuce and mesculin and she covers the greater Auckland region and indoor crops nationwide. read more

Paula came to Lefroy in 2020 from Nunhems, along with their product range. With over 30 years in the horticultural industry in varied roles and products, Paula has great knowledge and expertise to help grower find the right seed solution for them.

Richard Kay

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Kay to the Lefroy Valley New Zealand team. Richard will be based in Hawkes Bay as the Regional Manager for this region and Lower North Island. Richard joins the New Zealand team from Lefroy Valley Australia where he was the Regional Sales Manager based out of Melbourne. He offers the experience of having worked with a wide range of crops from market gardens to processing crops and product development for salad mix/mesclun. Having completed his Bachelor in Applied Science in Agribusiness in 2006 at Massey University, he took on a role as an Agronomist for a large food processing company in Gisborne. The crops he focused on were Sweetcorn, Squash, and Peas. Over the five years working there, he developed a solid understanding of the food processing industry and the agronomic skills to go with it. Richard has a passion and enthusiasm for the seed industry and enjoys the challenges and successes the industry presents. Richard says "I look forward to building the relationships with customers and suppliers as we all work towards a common goal". Warren Hobson

Warren Hobson has over 20 years of experience within the horticultural industry. Warren first joined Lefroy Valley in 2000 as Manager for Product Development & Sales of Protected Crop products coming from a previously similar role with another seed company. After 2 1/2 years with LVNZ Warren moved to Lefroy Valley Australia based in Melbourne to take on the role of National Product Manager for Processing Crops and Sales Manager for Southern Australia. Warren spent 5 years in Melbourne before returning to his present role at Lefroy valley NZ in March 2008. Warren's extensive industry experience includes biological control and pollination, growing media in the greenhouse industry and landscape design. Warren has the challenge of developing Specialty Agricultural Products for Lefroy Valley and is heavily involved in trials and promotion of new varieties. Warren's crop focus is on capsicum, summer crops (beans, zucchini, melons and sweetcorn), mesculin and the processing industry. Warren covers Northland, Waikato, Canterbury, Nelson and some Franklin growers. Warren has a passion for the horticultural industry. Warren enjoys building strong relationships through providing good service and quality products creating a win win for the grower and LVNZ alike. Warren is General Manager, Sales and Product Development. Warren started with Lefroy Valley in 2000 and later spent some time with Lefroy Valley Australia. Warren has worked in the horticultural industry for over 20 years including the biological control and substrates industry. In 2008 Warren returned to NZ and Lefroy Valley. Warren's focus is capsicum, summer crops, mesculin and processing. read more
