Brian believes that there are few things more important than helping a client to protect the aspects of their life they most value - whether that is getting a favorable parenting plan or securing their financial future. This belief caused Brian to shift his career from complex litigation to focus exclusively on family law. Brian's experiences, both as an attorney and before law school, gives him a unique insight into a variety of complex legal and financial issues. As a complex litigator, Brian handled hundreds of cases involving emotional and contentious issues, including childhood sexual abuse claims. He successfully negotiated over 300 claims in his prior practice. Brian previously had a small firm that utilized his advanced degree in Tax law, focusing on small business owners and tax litigation. Before law school, Brian worked as a stockbroker for three years in a highly specialized role. While there, Brian was consistently recognized for his dedicated customer service and commitment to finding innovative solutions for clients. Brian also worked for the military's medical school, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences for four years as a research biologist. He split his time between the National Naval Medical Center campus and Walter Reed Army Hospital. Brian excels in cases involving high value assets, closely-held businesses, professional practices, complex compensation structures, and highly-emotional matters. Brian has a BA in Neuroscience from Oberlin College, a JD from Oregon Law School, and an LLM in Taxation from the University of Washington. Outside of work, Brian enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife, Maggie, and their two daughters.

Mike started his practice in 1981. Since that time he has provided expert family law services to countless clients. He is especially proud of his work with military veterans and civilian shipyard employees. Mike served as a municipal court judge for 19 years while running his law practice. Mike served in the US Army Artillery from 1971 to 1975. In his last two years of service, he acted as a trial counsel. He went on to earn his law degree from Seattle University Law School in December 1978. He passed the bar exam in June 1979. Mike sold his practice to Brian in 2018, and finally retired for good in 2020. He still loves to tell stories about past courtroom battles, and he looks forward to continuing to do so.
