Dr. John D. Luker was born and raised in Springfield. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's degree in Physiology, then continued his education at Northwestern University Dental School. Upon graduation in 1992, he completed a General Practice Residency at Great Lakes naval base at North Chicago VA Medical Center. Dr. Luker has been practicing dentistry in Springfield since his return in 1993. Dr. Luker is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, the G.V. Black Dental Society and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is on the visiting faculty at Spear Institution, a leading institution of dentistry and oral health care teaching dentists how to improve their skills and care. Dr. Luker and his wife, Kristin are blessed with seven children: two girls and five boys. They enjoy golf, travel, reading, gardening and helping with their children's many sports teams and activities.
