MAYFIELD LUMBER - Key Persons


Ada Mayfield

Ada Mayfield established Mayfield Lumber Company in 1971 in McMinnville, Tennessee. The company initially specialized in lumber wholesale. David Mayfield, Bob and Ada's son, joined the company in 1973. In 1980, the first Mayfield yard facility was established and the first kilns were built. Over the next decade, kiln capacity expanded greatly. By 1991, Mayfield yards were capable of producing 300,000 bd/ft (700 m 3) per cycle. In 1998, David and Janice (David's wife) finalized the purchase of Mayfield Lumber from Bob and Ada. Mayfield Lumber had officially entered its second generation of business. 2002 also brought another major breakthrough: Mayfield opened its first overseas office. Miss Cathleen Xu manages Mayfield's China operations. Mayfield Lumber has always been and will continue to be a family organization. Jake and Josh Mayfield, David and Janice's sons, are poised to become third generation owners. Our goal is to establish long-term relationships with customers that value honesty, dependable service, and mutual profits.

Barry Martin

Barry Martin has been with Mayfield Lumber for 4 years. He oversees the planers and also grades lumber for domestic shipments. Barry has recently married and his new wife almost has him trained!

Cathleen Xu

Cathleen Xu (seated, lower picture) is the general manager for all China operations. She is a very energetic person and dedicated to her work. Cathleen lives in the Guang Dong province of China. Mayfield Lumber is very proud to have a person of her intelligence and honesty working in a very important market. China operations grow more each year and that trend will continue.

David Mayfield - President

David Mayfield is very proud of all the team at Mayfield Lumber. From unskilled workers to highly skilled workers, it takes good people that are dedicated, willing to work hard, and that take pride in their work to make any organization successful. At Mayfield Lumber, a family atmosphere will always be a way of life.

Debby Glenn

Debby Glenn (seated) is in charge of all receivables and payables. If you want to get paid, be nice to Ms. Debby! She does the bookkeeping and keeps everything moving. Don Glenn coordinates all of our shipping, and is also an excellent lumber grader. Don spends as much time as possible with his horses. If you want to know anything about horses, just ask Don.

Jake Mayfield - VP

Debby Glenn (seated) is in charge of all receivables and payables. If you want to get paid, be nice to Ms. Debby! She does the bookkeeping and keeps everything moving. Jake Mayfield is vice-president in charge of making everything run on the yard. Jake has many talents ranging from lumber inspection to re-building engines. Jake loves the outdoors and gets to see plenty around our lumberyard. Jake is very involved in a cattle operation on his farm.

Janice Mayfield

  • Office Manager / Logistics
Janice Mayfield oversees the office and arranges all logistics. Logistics, for any company, are getting more complicated every day. In her spare time Janice enjoys shopping and traveling.

John Hitchcock

John Hitchcock has been with Mayfield sine December 2006. He is in charge of the new stacker and all stacking and destacking operations. John is learning about grading and will attend the NHLA inspection school in Memphis soon.

Leigh Anne Vandiver

Mark Keith

Job Titles:
  • Inspector
Mark Keith has been a lumber inspector for several years. His responsibility is grading kiln dried lumber for export. Away from lumber, Mark enjoys traveling with his children and playing baseball and softball.
