METRUMRG - Key Persons
Ahmed earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Connecticut. His thesis work revolved around building statistical models to solve problems with super-resolution imaging. Other fields of experience include systems biology and pharmacokinetics. More recently, he focused on developing physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models to get a better mechanistic understanding of drugs' pharmacokinetics.
Amy joined Metrum RG in April 2023. She brings over 24 years of experience in the medical device industry. Throughout her career, she has held various roles ranging from product release to QMS administration. Additionally, she has worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist II for a software development company, where she was responsible for validation documentation creation, review, and approval, employee training, and various QMS continuous improvement projects.
Andrew joined MetrumRG in September 2022 as a Research Scientist. He earned his PhD in Ecology from Colorado State University, followed by a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Biology and Mathematics at Utah State University. Nearly all of Andrew's work relies on confronting mechanistic models with data to make predictions and inference. His interest in fitting dynamical models to data led to a postdoctoral appointment at the University of Georgia's Center for the Ecology of Infectious Diseases. Andrew then worked for four years as a statistical consultant in the environmental space before joining MetrumRG. Andrew has completed projects on early warning signals for disease re-emergence and forecasting models of emerging infectious diseases, like COVID-19.
April joined Metrum Research Group in April 2021 as Project Manager. She brings over 15 years experience of extensive IT project management, overseeing and implementing large-scale enterprise projects within the education, healthcare and financial sectors. Bringing her broad background and expertise to our Technical Solutions team, April is motivated to elevate best practices in pursuit of producing superlative results to our customers. When she is not managing big projects, she enjoys exercise, photography, and travel.

Barb has more than 20 years of diverse healthcare marketing and sales experience across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries, as well as hospitals and healthcare systems. Formerly spearheading the global marketing strategy for life sciences at ProPharma Group, Barb has extensive experience building and executing marketing campaigns and digital capabilities from the ground up. Barb earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Finance from Florida Southern College.

Blanda joined the Quality Assurance team at MetrumRG in March 2023 and is excited to bring knowledge gained from experiences throughout her career path. She started out planning to become a medical doctor, working as an autopsy technician, but life had other plans, and she transitioned to developing skills in quality and compliance. Learning applications and earning several certificates along the way, Blanda began as a quality control chemist in various industries from food, environmental, diagnostics, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical companies, working through development phases including animal testing, clinical phase trials, and the release of drugs to the commercial market. She looks forward to contributing her passion for compliance and continuous improvement here at MetrumRG.

Brian joined MetrumRG in March 2022 as a Business Analyst / Project Manager. He brings over 20 years of product and project management experience leading large scale projects within the media/advertising, pharmaceutical, education and energy sectors. Brian has managed a broad range of projects, including major software and IT implementations, new software product development and several studies that assess and plan for the future impacts of climate change on the electrical grid.
Brian joined MetrumRG in 2021 after receiving his Pharm.D. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California San Diego. His Ph.D. thesis work focused on bioinformatic analysis of epigenomic datasets to identify novel biomarkers of prognosis and response to azacitidine in myelodysplastic syndrome patients. He also studied how specific somatic mutations can impact cellular responses to azacitidine in genetically engineered cell lines.
Bryon joined the MetrumRG team in December 2017 as Project Manager. He has over 20 years of project management experience from across a diverse set of industries including pharmaceuticals, health care, financial services, and insurance. Bringing his extensive background and experience to our project teams, Bryon ensures the timely completion of project deliverables and exemplary client communication.
CJ has 23 years of drug development experience in both pharma and consulting roles and has been applying pharmacometric methods to PK/PD/outcome analysis and decision support for 27 years. His clinical experience spans a broad range of biomarker, safety, and efficacy endpoints with particular emphasis on oncology, rare diseases, inflammation, and viral diseases. He has extensive experience in performing model-based meta-analyses and near-real-time population PK/PD modeling to support informed and timely decision making.

Curtis joined Metrum in 2014 after receiving his Pharm.D. from the University at Buffalo and completing a clinical PK/PD Fellowship through UNC Chapel Hill/Quintiles. His clinical experience includes infectious disease (bacterial), oncology, and chronic liver disease (HCV and NASH). Curtis's research interests include Bayesian methodology and the application of M&S to help inform drug development decisions.

Dan joined Metrum in September, 2010 and is an applied statistician with an emphasis on Bayesian biostatistics, clinical trial design, and high performance statistical computing. His dissertation topic was adaptive design for heterogeneous time-to-event data in a Bayesian decision theory framework.

Danielle has been with Metrum since it started in 2004. She is responsible for all areas related to financial reporting. Danielle manages the daily operations of the accounting department, establishes and maintains fiscal files to document transactions and completes the annual financial audit. Her close attention to detail ensures that Metrum's accounting is properly performed and completed in a timely and accurate manner. Prior to joining Metrum, she served as a self-employed bookkeeper for several small business clients.

With over a decade of experience as an infrastructure engineer, DJ has worked in and managed environments ranging from just a few to 2500 physical servers, their virtualization layers, networking, and more. Arising out of necessity to deal with environments of such size, he picked up programming to facilitate automation which very quickly pushed him down the path of modern development practices, microservice segmentation, and containerization. He hopes to apply all these skills at MetrumRG and continue learning as paradigms shift.
Throughout her career, Diane has had extensive experience in communication and problem-solving support, and an understanding of the needs of cross-functional personnel and their departments. This includes document management and business understanding, along with contract support, event management logistics, and financial management. Diane joined Metrum in 2015, having previously served as the business manager for a not-for-profit organization, a radio broadcasting group, and an international tea company.
Eli joined Metrum Research Group in 2023 after obtaining his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Utah. His dissertation research focused on mathematical modeling of medication nonadherence and the effect it has on PK/PD models. Additionally, he has held internships at the Air Force Research Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory where he worked on problems related to satellite tracking, shockwave physics, image processing, and fluid dynamics.

Ellen joined Metrum Research Group in July 2023. She earned her PhD in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University in 2010. Continuing her research on the deposition of materials on thin liquid films, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University in the Center for Nonlinear Analysis and in collaboration with the Interfacial Physics Group. She then transitioned to a more teaching focused role where she became interested in mathematically modeling cancer development and treatments. She is excited to expand on that knowledge and aid in the advancement of treatment options.

Eric joined MetrumRG in May of 2017. He holds an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining MetrumRG, Eric worked in the areas of Analytics and Economic Research in the insurance industry for over five years. His experience includes statistical programming, creating insight-driven data visualizations, and developing application based user interfaces.

Aside from his first seven years modeling planetary and biological systems at NASA, Eric's twenty-year career has focused on the strategic application of advanced analytics, modeling, and simulation techniques to interpret and integrate biopharmaceutical data and to quantitatively inform pre-clinical through late phase clinical drug development decision making. In particular, Eric has extensive industrial experience developing and applying a broad continuum of translational, pharmacometric, and systems pharmacology techniques and strategies across diverse therapeutic areas. Eric is especially passionate about collaborations focused on developing and implementing quantitative frameworks used to advance the development of immunotherapeutics.

Erica joined Metrum Research Group in 2022. She brings with her over 7 years of administrative, marketing, and office management experience. Prior to joining MetrumRG, she worked in various environments which include but are not limited to insurance, marketing, and public relations.

Gabriella joined MetrumRG in November 2020 with 12 years' experience in customer relations and over 5 years in project management and resourcing, primarily in the engineering industry. She progressed through various roles and departments, eventually earning the title of Engineering Team Lead. At MetrumRG, she is a member of the Operations team, facilitating contract negotiations and acting as a liaison between MetrumRG scientists and clients during the proposal process. Gabriella also works with leadership and project management teams to ensure that tasks are appropriately resourced, resulting in timely delivery and the utmost satisfaction to MetrumRG's clientele.
Grace joined MetrumRG in April 2022 as a Data Scientist I. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo and M.S. in Epidemiology from Brown University. Before joining MetrumRG, she worked in academic research groups performing data management and analysis. Specifically, she has worked on genomic database development and management, genome-wide eQTL and pQTL analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses, and longitudinal studies on healthcare accessibility. Grace enjoys using data analytics to contribute to meaningful healthcare projects, and she is excited to continue to do so at MetrumRG.
Han Chung joined MetrumRG in 2019 with approximately 10 years of IT experience in various industries such as healthcare, higher education and the private sector. Han graduated from Central Connecticut State University with B.S degree in Industrial Technology.
Heather brings 24 years of expertise in a variety of support roles in industries such as food service, marketing and design, and non-profit/higher education. She joined Metrum in 2020 in support of the executive team with more than 11 years of direct executive support experience.

Hillary joined MetrumRG in 2021 after earning her MS in Mathematics and PhD in Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. Her thesis work centered on utilizing physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling for therapeutic drug monitoring. She has research experience in PK/PD modeling, survival analysis, item response theory modeling, and R package development. Hillary is excited to join Metrum because of a shared enthusiasm for open science and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Jack joined MetrumRG in April 2017, where he is currently a member of the PK/PD modeling group.
Jack's educational background is in biology, computer science, and mathematics.
He has eighteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (AstraZeneca and Vertex Pharmaceuticals) in the areas of bioinformatics, systems biology and most recently population PK/PD modeling.
Prior to that, Jack was at Nissan's Cambridge Basic Research lab where he did research in human space perception and cognition.

Jim Rogers has over 20 years of experience as an applied statistician in the biomedical industry. He currently provides statistical leadership for Quantitative Sciences at Metrum Research Group. Prior to joining Metrum Research Group, Jim worked for five years at Pfizer Global Research and Development, where he was the statistical lead on numerous clinical and preclinical projects in neuroscience. In 2008, Jim joined Metrum Research Group in order to work in closer collaboration with quantitative biologists and pharmacometricians. From a methodological perspective, Jim's focus in recent years has centered on the role of causal inference concepts in evidence integration. Jim believes that scientists trained in statistics can revolutionize the discipline of pharmacometrics and that scientists trained in pharmacometrics can revolutionize the discipline of statistics.

Jeannine joined Metrum in 2006 and has more than 20 years of experience in clinical and pre-clinical research experience in academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Jeannine has supported all phases of clinical research across multiple therapeutic areas, with a particular emphasis on pediatric and rare disease patient populations. Her clinical experience has most recently focused on model-based analyses of pk, biomarker, and efficacy endpoints to support decision making in various phases of drug development.

Jim hopes to take his broad experience in all aspects of IT to MetrumRG to help improve automation, continuous delivery, and overall efficiencies throughout the organization.
Jimena joined MetrumRG in June 2023 as a Senior Scientist I. She earned her PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics from North Carolina State University. She brings with her over 15 years of mathematical modeling and computational biology experience. Jimena spent 4 years at the US EPA as a Mathematical Statistician focused on uncertainty quantification of linked exposure-to-effects models for human health risk assessments. She then applied her mathematical modeling skills in various roles at Syngenta, including modeling biological pathways to support gene candidate discovery for plant traits and breeding in various crops. Jimena enjoys modeling complex biological systems to tackle challenges that humans face, and she's looking forward to collaborating on solutions that will inform biomedical decisions in drug development programs.
After working in both the financial and health insurance sectors, John Carlo joined the Technology Solutions team at Metrum in 2019. He brings three years of professional experience in backend software development and automated testing. John Carlo graduated from Towson University in 2015 with a bachelors degree in Computer Science and a minor in Creative Writing.
