Ashley Owen

Not only does Ashley help us with the day-to-day business operations of the practice, but she also happens to be Dr. Owen's wife. She has a background in design and a Bachelor of Arts in interior design and marketing. Ashley is a Frederick County native and, after many moves with Dr. Owen, is excited to permanently call Middletown their home. As mentioned above, Ashley and Mike have two rambunctious, lovable sons, Kaleb and Maddox, two rescue French bulldogs, Brutus and Winston, and a rescue orange tabby, Frankie.

Dr. Brittany Weicht

Dr. Brittany Weicht is a Maryland native who has been working in veterinary medicine since 2014. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medical Technology from Wilson College and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2021, Dr. Weicht graduated from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT). Her special interests include physical rehabilitation, pain management, emergency medicine, and client education.

Dr. Mike Owen

Dr. Mike Owen is a native Marylander and is thrilled to have called Frederick County his home for many years. His love for animals, passion for helping people, and strong work ethic made veterinary medicine a natural fit. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland and graduated magna cum laude from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he was inducted into the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. After graduation, Dr. Owen completed an Internal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has a special interest in surgery and has worked as a Chief of Staff and a Department Head of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Owen and his wife, Ashley (a Frederick County native) have 3 rescued pets: Frankie, an orange tabby and two French Bulldogs: Brutus and Winston. They also have two sons, Kaleb and Maddox. Outside of work, Dr. Owen enjoys spending time with his family, making a beach trip when possible, and going to a Baltimore Orioles or Washington Redskins game.

Thomas Bauk

Dr. Bauk is a lifelong resident of Maryland. Dr. Bauk graduated with honors from the University of Maryland with a degree in Animal Science. He then completed his veterinary degree with high honors in 1986 from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He was a member of the Phi Zeta National Honor Society and received outstanding achievement for Equine Medicine and Surgery. While completing his graduate degree he was employed in the United States Public Health Service working at the National Institute of Health Animal Center. Upon graduation Dr. Bauk worked for Dr. Robert D. Fulton at Middletown Veterinary Clinic until taking over in 1990 and passing the practice onto Dr. Owen in 2020. Dr. Bauk is a member of the AVMA and MVMA and has served as the Vice President of the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association.
