Brandon Clary

Brandon was born in Anderson, SC, which is a town in the upstate of South Carolina. He attended the University of South Carolina where he earned a double bachelors in Marketing and Management with an emphasis in human resources. He also attended the Medical University of South Carolina where he earned a Master of Healthcare Administration degree (MHA). Brandon spent ten years in the medical device space in multiple capacities working with an array of surgeons in the OR setting. He also spent 8 years in hospital administration serving as CEO of three not-for-profit hospitals. He has also served on numerous boards and committees within the different communities he served to remain active and help strengthen and bring new healthcare resources to those communities. Brandon has a very diverse, well-rounded background in the healthcare arena where he can utilize his differentiated experiences and deploy these capabilities for his current employer, which is MedStream Anesthesia, PLLC, a national anesthesia management company based in Asheville, NC. Brandon serves MedStream as the Vice President of Client Services. Brandon will work with specific accounts to build and strengthen relationships, serve all their operational, financial, and clinical needs with the support of the great team and culture that MedStream exhibits, all while creating a strong partnership of collaboration with the client. "I have had the opportunity to serve as a client and now serve the clients with the same passion and integrity that was given to me. David Darden

David was born in Bedford, Virginia, which is a small town in the western half of Virginia. He attended the public schools and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Biology from Hampden-Sydney College, a small, private liberal arts college located in south central Virginia. He worked in various jobs in Virginia and in Colorado after college. He decided to pursue a career in hospital administration and returned to Roanoke, Virginia to work in Carilion Health Systems, the largest not-for-profit hospital system in the state. David attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where he earned his Master's degree in Healthcare Administration. He returned to Roanoke where he continued his training and employment with Carilion Health Systems. He has forty -one plus years in healthcare management in North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida, New Mexico and Virginia. He has served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive in not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals ranging from 25 beds to 369 bed facilities in rural communities. He worked with a national physician practice management company and is currently the Senior Vice President of Client Services for MedStream Anesthesia, PLLC, a national anesthesia management company based in Asheville, North Carolina . He has remained committed to professional development and earned the status as Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. David has been active in many community and charitable organizations. He has served on the boards of local Chambers of Commerce, the United Way, the American Red Cross, the American Lung Association and two state hospital associations. He has been and remains active in local churches of the communities in which he has lived and now lives.

David Webb - CEO

David Webb serves as Chief Administrative Officer at MedStream, where he oversees all ongoing operations and procedures as well as new business development initiatives. With over 30 years of experience in healthcare administration, David brings a unique ability to work strategically with hospital executives and physicians. Prior to joining MedStream, David served as CEO of an Orthopedic Practice in Longview, Texas where he orchestrated tremendous growth and collaboration between the practice and local health systems to improve quality of care and patient satisfaction. David began his career in healthcare in the US Air Force where he spent 21 years in various hospital leadership positions before retiring in 2011.

Dewana Gillenwater - CFO

Even 30 years ago, Dewana possessed a unique combination of IT and public accounting skills which have gone on to position her in numerous roles as a valuable asset. MedStream and our health care clients now benefit from this duality. We have also gained an accomplished financial executive leader, as she has a personal affinity for healthcare patients and our community. With that focus, it is a priority for Dewana to work to help companies who help people. "My career goals have been to manage people and processes, work with highly technical financial systems, serve as a liaison between financial and information technology groups, identify areas for improvement to systems and processes while ensuring accuracy and reliability of data." Jaime Burrell

Jaime is a native of Asheville, North Carolina and brings over 20 years of health care experience and leadership to the MedStream Anesthesia Team as Vice President of Client Services. Jaime attended undergraduate school at Appalachian State University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then went on to earn a Master of Health Sciences at Western Carolina University. During her graduate studies, Jaime was hired at an 815-bed level two trauma hospital. During Jaime's 12-year tenure at this hospital she participated in and led strategic planning, clinical education, business development, physician recruitment, completed Leadership Asheville, and earned a graduate certificate in Clinical Bioethics from Wake Forest University. She then went on to lead business analytics at North Carolina's largest behavioral health managed care organization, became one of Health Blue of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina's two clinical quality program managers, and earned a GEM Club distinction as a Senior Marketing Executive at Labcorp. Jaime has been active in supporting not for profit health care initiatives and the United Way within the Asheville community. She was most recently a board member with The Council on Aging of Buncombe County for several years.

Kenneth R. Ellington - Founder, President

Dr. Ken Ellington is the founder and President of MedStream, channeling 30 years of experience as a board-certified anesthesiologist to hospitals seeking his experience, innovation and partnership. Early on, he gravitated toward leadership positions, possessing a natural ability to build teams and resolve problems in a collaborative process.

Lance Player - CEO

In leading the company's non-clinical day-to-day business operations and business services for client sites, Lance manages all operational departments, finance and accounting, and human resources. In addition to process and performance management, Lance is also responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies and processes, financial and data analytics, and developing short- and long-term strategic financial plans for MedStream. In fact, Lance's appointment to MedStream underscores the company's vision for its future and respective growth goals, which are particularly aligned with his experience. "I was attracted to MedStream because of the people behind its success, the company's growth to date and the tremendous opportunity for continued growth. Mary Ellen Gibbons

Each Regional Director for Clinical Services provides clinical and administrative leadership at multiple facilities across the MedStream footprint. In this role, Mary Ellen Gibbons identifies and shares proven best practices, creating a consistent service model that can be scaled across numerous facilities. Mary Ellen enjoys the duality of this role, stating, "This position combines the best aspects of clinical and administrative roles. I am able to bridge the gap between remote sites while also serving as a liaison back to MedStream's corporate office." In working clinically with our providers and the medical staff at each hospital, Mary Ellen has developed a network of teammates united in delivering quality service. "When I travel, I can establish personal relationships and essentially develop an expanded family of providers. I enjoy the one-on-one communication at each site, learning and collaborating for shared success."

Rodney V. Pugh

Our Regional Medical Directors provide administrative and clinical leadership across the MedStream service footprint. Dr. Rodney Pugh integrates the MedStream model into new client hospitals, ensuring the consistent application of best practices while monitoring departmental performance. Prior to joining MedStream, Rodney served as the Chairman and President of AllCare Clinical Associates and as the Chairman of Mission Hospital Department of Anesthesia. He has also been active in multiple medical society boards. These engagements demanded of Rodney two levels of accountability to the community: both in a broad capacity leading improvement-based programs, and in a more focused application, treating one patient at a time. Serving as a liaison between our local providers and our corporate headquarters, Rodney provides important guidance and feedback in both directions. "The opportunity to work clinically and problem-solve with colleagues on the ground is naturally rewarding. However the chance to scale that success beyond a single location is immensely gratifying. Terry Cline

Terry Cline provides active oversight and management of the anesthesia departments within each of MedStream's client hospitals. As Chief Clinical Officer since 2009, Terry has 35 years of experience and a proven ability to identify, stabilize, and correct issues impacting clinical and operational functions. Terry embodies MedStream's leadership capability, bridging both clinical and administrative needs to accommodate financial goals and deliver superior clinical services. "We work for three sets of people: patients, surgeons, and administration. Our process includes extensive relationship-building, from OR technicians to surgeons to CEO." While implementing procedural, staffing, and management changes, Terry still practices clinically, maintaining an active presence in the OR to observe direct patient care first-hand.
